I had virus at half term and seems like I've been under weather since but last 10days or so my head has been really blocked. Feel like I've shares in olbas oil, box and Kleenex but despite huge amounts of snot I'm still bunged up, even my ears feel blocked.
Pharmacist recommended decongestant tablets but not only do they make your mouth like the Sahara you aren't meant to take for more than a few days.
What else can I do, it's driving me crazy! I'm even trying to sleep with my fist in armpit as google says that will help😂

Sudofed worked for me. Hope you feel better.

Sudafed gold is great.

Have no suggestions other than Olbas Oil and steam

Sudofed nasal spray.
Just jammed it in my nostrils and the relief is amazing! My sinuses were pounding and I'm pretty sure I'm composed of 90% snot right now but the Sudofed spray allows me to breathe and sleep!

NaomiShapiro · 13/12/2019 00:11

Day nurse and night nurse, vicks nasal spray and nasal douche

Sudafed gold?? This wasn't gold....I'll try chemist again tomorrow sounds like they've sold me a dud! Will get spray too try alternating. I can't even smell the olbas oil, sure my colleagues all can though!
Douche doesn't sound fun but maybe I'm that desperate...

KinCare Oral Mucosa mouthwash is really good if you get a dry mouth from sinus tablets. My sinuses are trying to kill me at the moment Sad

I've got a Boots electric vaporiser, that they sell refill pads for. They contain menthol and eucalyptus, and help a lot.

FlatheadScrewdriver · 14/12/2019 16:50

Otrivine spray (not the drops) it is fantastic and does the job for hours.

Isnappedandsharted · 14/12/2019 16:53

Have you got an oil diffuser? I would diffuse some eucalyptus oil to unblock. The calpol plug ins are good too.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Neilmed Sinus Rinse is what helps me. When I run out of sachets I just use sea salt and water. Use it twice a day. Also vit C, D and zinc daily.

Another vote for Sudafed nasal spray - it's amazing. Squirt, squirt, 5 mins, clear breathing. Fantastic stuff. Can only use 3x a day but to be honest you don't need it more.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/12/2019 17:14

otravine spray is brilliant.

I've got Sudafed spray now too as we aren't in city so not much choice, thought I was on mend but back to square one agin and even my teeth hurt this morning with the pressure in my face. Pharmacy gave me ibruprofen with codine and think I'm going to have to see if gp can help Monday as we are off to London on Thursday as surprising dd with a trip to Olympic for her Christmas. Really don't want to feel this rough to drive down then have it ruin our days away 😕
Now in hot steamy bath and going to does my self up before retreating to my olbasy vic bed.

I have the same problem - complete and utter blockage and unable to breathe at all through the nose. Sudofed nasal spray seems to be working better than anything else I've tried - it takes a little while to work but it's such a relief when it kicks in. I fear I am becoming dependent on it, especially at night!
