DVT help - Health anxiety

A friend has just had a close call with dvt, and as an anxious person I am now terrifird about DVT.

I'm fairly inactive. How do I precent dvt? Would I know of I had it? I cant go tit he dr and just say Im scared of it (I did once a few years ago but that was when Ihad leg pain and I was tested and ok) id have ni reason to go ti the dr other than anxiety about it.

If I exercise does my chance of getting one go away or can i reduce one???

I have ME/cfs and will often spend half a day lying down. I dont sleep well and am often tired..

I understand you OP! I get health anxieties too from time to time

I think for DVT specifically you would need to have certain risk factors, like obesity, hormonal stuff, surgery in certain parts of your body etc. Otherwise it's extremely rare or just doesn't happen.

Having an active lifestyle to boost blood circulation and staying well hydrated helps reduce the risk I think

Im v obese and fairly inactive 😳. I've scared myself I'm at risk and wouldn't know it. My friend had no idea.

I dont have the energy to become properly active, but even if I became more active what if Ive already got one? Do they go away?

Thanks for your reply, and apologies for my awful typos I cant text on my phone.

I think if you already had one you'd know, there would be pain, swelling etc so don't worry! Make sure you drink plenty of water and you could also speak to your GP about what you can do to lower the risk depending on your circumstances. Possibly physical therapy would help?
