I would say if you don’t want the tories in power then tactical voting is the way to go

If you’re in a marginal and vote for a party that doesn’t stand a chance then you’re not helping your cause

However obviously you have to vote with your gut (and brain)

Neome · 12/12/2019 20:05

Mine isn't

Impossible to say without knowing the constituency.

This is why PR would be a better system.

No, it's a vote for the Green Party. If ever there was an election in which we need to vote with our principles, this is it.

GCAcademic · 12/12/2019 20:08

It depends entirely on your constituency.

NemophilistRebel · 12/12/2019 20:12

Unfortunately Green Party weren’t standing in our constituency

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 12/12/2019 20:15

It's a labour stronghold

Maybe. I've just voted Green in a Tory seat. Needed a 6% shift to Labour to win. But despite loving their Environment and Animal Welfare policies I just couldn't accept their economic policies.

So i held my nose and voted Green again despite their leader being a pratt.

Frazzled2207 · 12/12/2019 20:25

In a labour stronghold then it will possibly help the conservatives but def won't help labour!

If you're in Brighton, Bristol west, Isle of Wight or Stroud, all of which I believe are large targets for the greens, you most definitely should

Hereismyreply · 12/12/2019 20:48

If you're voting in a marginal constituency where the Tories might win then yes, Tory strategists would no doubt be pleased to hear you'd voted Green.

If you're voting in a constituency which the Tories have no hope of winning anyway. then no, makes no difference to the Tories.

fedup21 · 12/12/2019 20:52

Which constituency?

Quite probably.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 12/12/2019 21:33

I don't think the Tories have ever held this seat

LemonGingerCakes · 12/12/2019 21:36

Think of it as weakening the labour vote. Only time will tell if enough other people have thought the same as you, voted green and let the Tories in. Or not.
