Christmas presents for nursery staff

So this is my first Christmas with a child in education, specifically nursery. I really love his keyworker and would love to get her a little present. Does anyone have any good suggestions? She is probably around late 20s or 30 years old.

Also, should I get a little something for the other staff in the baby room too? There's only 5 of them and I don't want anyone to feel left out. I was thinking one of those little poinsettia plants being sold everywhere for about £2 for the other staff and something slightly nicer for his keyworker.

Throw any ideas my way!

For DS key worker we just did a card, plus a card for the rest of them, then a box of chocolates for them to share. Meant they had something to enjoy during the day.

We get a large box of hotel chocolate Christmas chocolates for all the staff to share in their staff room thing plus something like tea or chocolate etc for key worker.

I work in early years, wine is always good after a busy term.

I get a Starbucks voucher for each class teacher. There’s one next to the daycare so I know they’ll use it. Always seems to go down well. I wouldn’t get a poinsettia as they’re toxic for pets. Chocolates for everyone to share are a good idea but our daycare is very strict on no nuts so in our case any for the break room would need to be guaranteed nut free.

Good point about poinsettias being toxic to pets @expressed, I'll steer clear of that idea then. I like the chocolates idea but our nursery is strict on the no nuts policy so I'll have to check that.

I would personally love to receive a coffee gift voucher (although I seem to like all the "boring" gifts such as candles and bath stuff so clearly have bad taste by MN standards) but I have heard others on hear complaining about gift cards. Everyone else's thoughts on gift cards?

I was going to get my son's key worker a small box of chocolates and a card from him but then I was looking in the hygiene register and discovered that it's another nursery worker that has done most of my son's nappy changes and she's changed him lots when he's soiled his pants and trousers during potty training too.

I would feel guilty giving the key worker a present and not this other girl too. Then there are other members of staff who have also changed my son and done nice things with him.

So I thought about a small gift for the key worker and a tin of chocolates and another card for the other staff. Then I realised that nursery finishes on Friday (when I was going to give the presents) so they'll be nobody there to eat the chocolates. Also I'm just about out of money until I get paid on 27th.

Now I've decided it's too much hassle and perhaps it would be best just to leave it and buy the key worker a lovely gift in July when he leaves nursery.
