Christmas activities in West London

I'm coming up to London for the weekend before Christmas, with my DD, to spend with my Mum. I'm looking for something festive to do on the Sunday, which won't be stupidly busy. My Mum is almost 80 and not in the best of health.

Would any London MNers know of anything that might suit? We will be based in Ealing and will have a car.

Thank you Xmas Smile

Pitzhanger Manor is lovely now that it has been refurbished. Quite a lot of interactive stuff going on. The Memory Palace Exhibition is thought provoking (depends how young your DD is though) You can get a "blank" map to take away. I am guessing that the house will be decorated for Christmas. There is a big cafe next door. Nice and local too.

Gingle that is a fab idea! We went to see the Anish Kapoor exhibition there, it was excellent!

We went a couple of months ago, I think we were the only people there - it is one of those places that you wouldn't really go to unless you knew it was there IYKWIM.

Chance for a nice wander in the park if it's a nice day too.

I think they have done quite a lot to Gunnersbury Park recently too, and I have heard good things about the new cafe there (don't live in Ealing anymore so haven't been there personally).

A bit further afield, Syon Park is usually quite festive.

Ham House - just down the road on the 65 bus from Ealing, then a short, pretty walk past the polo club. (Or just drive, there's a car park!) Beautifully decorated for Christmas. KItchen is fun with a real 17th century banquet.
If the rain ever stops, it's a nice stroll along the river to Petersham Nurseries where the shop is very festive and the cakes are nicer than the National Trust. But it will be crowded there this Sunday, I should think. There's always a long queue for the teashop.
Anish Kapoor exhibition is also fun, though - and there's a nice-ish cafe next door.
