I’m nine and a half weeks pregnant and me and husband are over the moon! I’m really struggling with sickness and have been for the past few weeks. I was admitted to hospital because of it two weeks ago and prescribed some anti sickness pills which seem to take the edge off for the afternoon and evening but I’m still shockingly bad in the morning. Does anyone have any advice on how I could feel a bit happier or less sick? Feeing like a bit of a failure at the moment and awful on hubby as I just want to be in bed all of the time. TIA Star

Ginger is good.
I used to have a couple of ginger biscuits before even getting out of bed. Also squash with added glucose. Keeping my blood sugar up used to help a lot. I was still sick though

I found that never having an empty stomach helped keep the nausea away. I carried ginger biscuits with me at all times Smile

Thanks so much, I had a bad experience with ginger biscuits a few weeks ago so have kept my distance but maybe it’s time I give it another try!

Yep never have an empty stomach.

But do know that it will pass soon.

For all 3 of my kids it stopped by 12 weeks

I too lived on ginger biscuits for first 5 months thanks to a shocking combination of awful nausea and severe heartburn.

Peppermint tea also helped, as did ginger tea and chewing gum (again peppermint not spearmint or fruity flavours).

I have a sensitive stomach anyway and I still use gum and peppermint tea and always have ginger biscuits in just in case and dd almost 19 Grin

Hope you're feeling much better soon

Oh - my sister couldn't get on with ginger/mint BUT she did find seasickness wrist bands helped - they basically work on principles of acupressure

Thank you everyone Smile
