Hi looking for advice, been back to docs 3 times with DS. He starts to cough in the evenings and coughs well into the last evening. He's been like this since October. It's definitely affecting his sleep quality.
Docs have listened to his chest, no crackle, no wheeze.

I have dusted his room, washed all the covers and soft toys, changed his mattress and pillows.

I have tried raising his bed up at the head end, tried vicks on the feet, diffusers in his room and cutting out dairy.

Every time I go to docs they say leave it another week see if he's any better. He's not getting any better.

He's cheerful enough in himself, appetite fine. He's a been teasy and tearful at the moment, but I'm sure he's tired.

Any got any advice for me?

any family history of asthma in you /Dad/siblings?
Did the cough start as part of a cold?
Does he get hayfever/eczema?
has this happened before?
is this every night or on and off

Hi
My ds 11 is like me an gets a tickle cough in throat in response to doors/windows closed and pet hair/dust in winter.
I take tablet antihistamine and I give him 5 ml of piriton which stops the cough.
Is it worth you trying piriton for a week ( I only give 5ml for day not am/pm) see if helps the cough? Could try giving it an hr or two before bed?

Only moderate probability asthma. I would ask for some ventolin to see if he responds. If he does then he will need a good history taking and respiratory nurse/GP should go from there.
More likely to be a viral cough.
Is he coughing at all in the daytime??
Does running around induce the same cough?

Can't explain how this works but on the advice of someone, when my husband had a persistent cough, I made a night time hot drink of orange juice, quarter tablet of vitamin C, boiling water, squeeze of honey and a shake of ordinary cheap supermarket apple cider vinegar. Not sure how are why, but it killed the cough and every one since.
