Do you and you family wear matching Xmas pajamas?

OP posts:
GivenchyDahhling · 10/12/2019 09:48

This is our first Christmas with a newborn baby and I bought him a sleep suit from M&S with skiing penguins on it. The next time I was in there I noticed they had an adult version and it was part of their co-ordinated pyjama collection so I ordered a pair for myself and DH. I love mine and have been wearing them ever since, DH thinks it’s cute but is unlikely to spend any significant time in his. Maybe a photo on Christmas Day if I insist 😂

Annasgirl · 10/12/2019 09:48

No but I assume lots of people do otherwise why would shops sell them? I like to wear nice pjs on Christmas morning though as we open presents and spend the morning in pjs.

TreestumpsAndTrampolines · 10/12/2019 09:52

We don't do fancy advents (old school chocolates for us grin )

You're making me feel old. When I was a kid, the chocolate calendars were the fancy.. we just had ones where you opened a door and saw a picture. I remember feeling so unbelievably lucky when my nan bought us a chocolate one each!

Heck yes

Bloodybridget · 10/12/2019 09:57

It's just me and DP in our house, we'd never have matching pyjamas. But I don't see why the design means they can't be worn at any other time of year. I bought myself the skiing penguins ones from M&S in October and have been wearing them since then (no, not continuously).

Fulltimenanny · 10/12/2019 10:21

YES YES YES!
Put into DC Christmas eve box. Before we snuggle down with hot chocolate and a christmas movie we get them on!

I also take a family picture around the tree GrinI love that we are all matching before we get changed for the day.Xmas Smile Also I am not bothered about wearing christmas pjs through Jan. Who is watching me really.

AuntSpiker · 10/12/2019 10:23

God no.

Paddington68 · 10/12/2019 10:26

Please not another 'thing'.

BackforGood · 10/12/2019 10:27

Good grief no.
When my dc were younger, there is NO WAY they would have worn anything matching to their siblings even if I'd been daft enough to get them something matching

drivingtofrance · 10/12/2019 10:27

Hell no.

We don't really wear pyjamas at all - let alone Christmas pyjamas.

Comefromaway · 10/12/2019 10:27

I'm the only one who wears pyjamas.

catwithflowers · 10/12/2019 10:28

🤮🤮🤮

Celebelly · 10/12/2019 10:28

No but we have matching Christmas jumpers for DD's first Christmas! Looks ridiculous and I bloody love it

PerfectPretender · 10/12/2019 10:28

For the DC, yes. It's one of those cherished cheesy traditions that even the older teens still love.

Boxerbinky · 10/12/2019 10:45

Yes!! I was quite surprised that my dh was onboard when we got them last year. I won't be buying new ones as they are still in good condition and still fit my ds. I will admit that when we put up the tree and sat down together all matching it felt very festive cheesy Grin and I loved it.

Squoozie · 10/12/2019 10:52

Twee as fuck. Very Net Hun.

CinnamonStar · 10/12/2019 10:52

Not for adults. But MIL has bought matching for all her grandchildren before, when we were all there for Christmas. The children thought it was brilliant.

Ellybellyboo · 10/12/2019 10:58

No

We all have new pyjamas on Christmas Eve - when the kids were little we’d tell them that Father Christmas sends a party of elves ahead of him to deliver pyjamas and check children were getting ready for bed

They’re never matching or Christmassy though

fessmess · 10/12/2019 11:33

I am flabbergasted that people buy new pjs EVERY YEAR. Some of my nightwear is 20 years old.

BarbedBloom · 10/12/2019 11:38

Nope. Firstly I don't even wear them full stop and secondly, I hate dressing the same as other people which was why I hated school uniform. Up to others what they do though.

Pyjamaface · 10/12/2019 11:42

Nope, DS gets new pyjamas on Christmas Eve but they are not always festive ones, it depends what I find.
