Please check if it's important where you live to vote tactically.

Let's get them out?! 🙏

Are you in a swing seat?

No, I'm on the sofa.

WoahBodyforrrm · 08/12/2019 23:30

Thanks for posting.

This made for interesting reading.

This has clarified that the decision I was swaying towards, will be the right one.

Not that I expect much from any of them.

DramaAlpaca · 08/12/2019 23:33

Dammit, PolPotNoodle said exactly what I was going to say Grin

Sorry, OP, I know it's a serious thread but I couldn't resist. I can't vote anyway, I've lived outside the UK for too long now.

Hereismyreply · 09/12/2019 00:00

tactical.vote/compare
Just to flag that there is more than one tactical voting site. This link lets you compare what the different tactical voting sites are saying. Most of the time they align, but there are a few where they don't.

Hereismyreply · 09/12/2019 00:15

And just in case there are any Esher and Walton voters reading this, please do vote tactically Lib Dem! Despite Raab's huge majority, there has been a lot of speculation in the press that he could lose his seat to the Lib Dems, as lots of the Tory voters there are Tory Remainers who are not keen on hurtling towards a hard Brexit www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/election-2019-50672691/general-election-2019-dominic-raab-s-surrey-seat-under-threat
So any traditionally Labour voters in Esher and Walton, please vote for the Lib Dems this time around! They may not be your favourite party, but Labour have no hope of winning in Esher and Walton, and wouldn't you enjoy watching Raab's "Portillo moment "?

DorothyParkersCat · 09/12/2019 00:29

I thought this was going to be about chairs hanging from the ceiling.

flatpack1 · 09/12/2019 01:07

Nope. Tories will get in here. Best I can hope for is a hung parliament

wafflyversatile · 09/12/2019 01:50

I've heard that libdens have been saying only they can beat the tories in X or Y ward when in fact labour has been in second place. I havent fact checked that but would recommend anyone voting tactically does fact check last GE results.

TheNameGames · 09/12/2019 02:26

I'm in a weird seat. 100% predicted for Labour to win who got 81.1% in the 2017 election but voted over 75% to leave in the referendum.

Gooseysgirl · 09/12/2019 07:01

Yes I am... goodbye IDS 🙏🏻

rosie561 · 09/12/2019 07:07

Waves to @Hereismyreply** this is my constituency and I will be voting Lib Dem to try and oust Raab!

whatalovelytub · 09/12/2019 07:14

Yes it's my constituency too! Planning to vote Lib Dem as are many I know.
Still a lot of Conservative signs in people's front gardens though, and there has been much grumbling about the number of Lib Dem letters/flyers/bulletins coming through the door (three separate ones yesterdayGrin)

rosie561 · 09/12/2019 21:43

@whatalovelytub perhaps you are in the same local area Facebook group as me, people couldn't stop complaining about the number of Lib Dem leaflets! I've had the full set today, one from each of the three main parties and and one I've never heard of!

RunningNinja79 · 09/12/2019 22:04

Unfortunately not. We have a 98% chance of having a Tory MP. We have been tory for over 100 years and our current MP is starting to make a name for himself in the wider UK (he has been on national TV quite a bit recently)

It kind of makes me wonder what the point is for me. However, I will vote.

Firstly, people died to give me the right to vote so I will use it.

Secondly, So it may be very very unlikely that my MP wont keep his seat, but I should make it known that there are some of us who want to vote elsewhere (not that you can tell by all the Tory signs all over the place) and maybe next election it wont be as high as 98% chance.

Lastly, the most important reason of all is my children. Assuming that we wont have another GE for 5 years, one of them will be voting themselves, the others not quite (unless they do lower the voting age then DC2 might be able to), but by doing it and talking to my children about it, then they will grow up more likely with the intention of voting. My parents never really talked to me about it and between 1997 and 2010 I didn't vote at all. It's only by being with DH and him being into politics has got me interest in it (only at voting times though)

DebbieFiderer · 09/12/2019 22:08

My constituency (which borders Esher and Walton!) is one of the very few where the different recommendations on the site linked above don't align - 2 sites say vote Lib Dem, 2 say Labour. Lib Dems have historically been a strong second (but well behind the Tories, who get over 50%), but Labour had a huge gain last time to overtake them for second. Add to that that the Lib Dem candidate looks like a bit of a wet lettuce, whereas the Labour candidate seems a bit stronger, but my politics lean more towards Lib Dem, and I am really struggling to decide!

scissy · 09/12/2019 22:35

I'm in a LIB/CON swing seat, the last constituency poll a couple of weeks ago had both candidates on 45% so who knows what will happen on Thursday.

SilverySurfer · 09/12/2019 22:55

No, I'm in a safe Tory constituency, thank goodness.
