Please help me find a toy duck "that does something"

DD who is age 3 wants a toy duck that does something for Christmas. It's the only thing she's asked for. I've seen a Hamley's one that sings and dances, but I don't know if it's a bit young for her. I think she'd prefer a soft toy rather than plastic. I found a video of one that walks, sings and quacks, but can't actually find where to buy it.

So I'm looking to the power of Mumsnet to help me find a fucking duck!!!

No help at all, but I really don't think a "fucking duck" would be appropriate Grin.

Squeaking, walking , quacking, all fine. Fucking, not so fine.

I should add that she initially wanted a real duck but I've managed to talk her out of that.

Ah sorry, that's probably the one you mentioned!

allthesharks · 08/12/2019 22:06

@justdoityourself the first one you posted looks good, but says it might not be delivered until January. The second one is the one I mentioned, but I'm not sure if it might be a bit young. Although the description does say recommended age is 3+, that's probably down to safety reasons though.

@whyamidoingthis haha. I did think that after I'd posted it. Probably not very appropriate and likely to be quite traumatic.

RSPB do cuddly mallards with real mallard bird song recorded inside them, if that's what she means. Doesn't walk, though.

moreismore · 08/12/2019 22:14

Could you get something recorded at build a bear to put into a soft toy?! A lot of effort though. Sarah and Duck fan by any chance?!

Bigbelliedseahorse · 08/12/2019 22:15

This was the first thing I thought of, I appreciate it's plastic and not a duck but she would probably like it!

I've ordered the one from China but as it may not arrive until after Christmas I'm going to keep looking for others. If she ends up with two I'm sure she won't complain.

Build a bear is a good option. There's one near to my work so I'll have a look if they have any ducks.

Maybe it would have been easier to get a real duck after all. She planned for it to live in the bath.

I think the Hamleys movers and shakers duck looks just the job! If she wants a real duck, perhaps she could adopt one that lives locally because maybe Father Christmas realises that the bath is not the most suitable place to keep a duck.

Swatsup · 08/12/2019 22:51

There used to be a furreal duck but that was years ago. Remote control one from a hunting website 😂?

Swatsup · 08/12/2019 22:55

This but it doesn’t do anything shop.sarahandduck.com/collections/toys/products/sarah-duck-large-duck-plush-60cm

ElloBrian · 08/12/2019 23:03

You can actually adopt a duck for her OP, if that might save your bath from becoming a pond ...

We've got the RSPB one that newdeer posted. It has a very realistic quack.

Fingermoose · 08/12/2019 23:28

Or a wind up duck?

hiredandsqueak · 08/12/2019 23:38

A push along duck? or this?

allthesharks · 08/12/2019 23:52

I've found a furreal duck on eBay that should arrive in time. She'll love it. Thank you everyone for your help.
