Hi I’m just wondering has anyone’s little ones had a tounge tie snipped at 6 months old??? And will I get in trouble for going privately? I’ve mentioned it to doctors before and midwifes and they’re not bothered, health visitors said because he is feeding and is gaining weight they might not do it under the nhs? I’m just wondering would I get in to trouble x

How is he with latching if you are laying down? DD was better that way.

I was told she didnt have tongue tie, I'm convinced she did and lip tie.

She has rosebud lips that dont close fully.

I don't breastfeed unfortunately, but he's had it snipped today and can see a massive improvement already :)

Please get it snipped. And no you won't get in trouble. Why the NHS has let it get to 6 mths gives me the absolute rage. I can't believe they are still not actioning this and just letting it go. Makes me so cross! Angry

Oblomov I had it snipped privately today :) it's made such a difference and it makes me cross too, such a shame how they let baby's suffer for so long!

The exercises the consultant showed me were where you put your (clean!) finger into the babies mouth and they naturally move their tongue towards your finger, or away. Usually towards. You put your finger gently into their mouth at the top and to each side, to encourage the baby to move their tongue and gently stretch out any scar tissue.

Why would you get in trouble for taking your child to a registered private medical professional??

I mean don’t take them to a witch doctor for voo doo craft but otherwise your fine

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2019 14:09

Got for it you won’t get in trouble
