Polling station queues - what time to go?

Quick question about queues at polling stations -

Are they busier first thing in the morning (7 - 8 am), or are they busier last thing in the evening (9 - 10 pm)?

Is this your first time voting in the UK?

I know British people love their queues...but there's never any at a polling station!

I go at 7pm ish. I've never queued.

Of course there are sometimes queues at some polling stations! I have seen queues at the end of the day (close to 10pm). I think you would be better off going in the morning.

And by queues, I mean taking 15 mins in the queue and people debating what happens if it goes past 10pm.

Ours usually has a small queue, we are a ward with high turnout. For the EU Referendum the queue was out the door, wish I could remember what time I voted.

Ok, so probably no need to worry too much about it!

Thanks all.

No queues here, very rural. The polling station is the village hall and its rare to see another soul. There’s another one about a mile away too which always seems excessive for a small community!

I normally go on way home from work but in mat leave so will go as soon as baby allows Smile

I rarely see another person, bar the volunteers running it, let alone a queue!!

OldEvilOwl · 06/12/2019 15:36

Never a queue, just walked in and out at whatever time I decided to go

Also never seen a queue and I've moved around a lot. I tend to go before work at 7:30am ish because then if for any reason something happens in the day I won't be stopped from voting. I used to commute to London by train and I was always worried there'd be delays and I would get stuck and not be able to vote!
