Sore under boobs.

Let’s start this by saying I have large boobs and this summer was a problem. With me now being peri menopausal I have been getting hotter and hotter. And I struggled with sweat underneath my boobs this summer.

I ended up with a sore patch. But after faffing about with one thing Or another I managed to make it better.
What I have been left with is a long patch of really dry skin.

I read online to wear a vest next to my skin with the bra over the top Of that which has helped massively ( genius idea ) The lady at the chemist gave me some cream. It has just started to work but now I have to stop as it has a steroid in it and I can only use it for a week and that ends today.
Has anyone had this. What do you use. It is no longer an open sore it is just really dry skin and I can’t seem to get rid of it. And my bra just rubs and irrates it.

layering moisturiser helps my eczema skin.
a normal (face) moisturiser and when that has sunk in a richer one (nivea blue pot for example).
but you need to prevent the skin rubbing. keep on with the extra fabric under bra strap. maybe consider a different kind of bra with a bigger but softer band.

I share your pain, I suffer the same for the same reasons
Sudocreme is really good. Apply it at night prior to bed too.
Once you have healed, use a roll on deodorant under your breasts and in the cleavage on a morning after either showering or just sponging underneath.
I also use men's cotton hankies folded up narrow and placed in the crease underneath before putting my bra on in the warmer weather. That helps to absorb sweat.

Is it thrush op? Could you take a caniston tablet?

Has thrush been ruled out? I had it under my bump one heavily pregnant summer, and did not recognise it. It looked like chafing, and was in a plausible location for that.

I'm not a doctor, but, IME, if a steroid cream was going to sort out chafing, your skin would be completely healed by now.

lettersbyowl · 04/12/2019 07:28

If it's now just dry skin, I would use diprobase on it for a while and carry on with the vest

Boristhecats · 04/12/2019 07:37

Not thrush.

@lettersbyowl thanks I will look into that. I didn’t wear the vest and bra the wrong way round the other day. Didn’t realise how much it was helping till I did that. My husband think the combo is funny Grin

The Odinary hydraluric acid at bedtime and sleeping with no bra.
Washing with Aveeno baby wash, then Aveeno daily moisturising cream. Pay off excess and leave a few mins.
Lots of Cuticura medicated talc, then a very soft bra, with some folded soft tissue under the band.

sonjadog · 04/12/2019 10:19

I put deodorant under my boobs. Roll on on armpits and under boobs every morning. Cleared up the whole issue almost immediately.

bobstersmum · 04/12/2019 10:23

Asda sell liquid talc in the baby dept, it's like a cream and I use it for this reason.

Boristhecats · 04/12/2019 12:18

Thanks for all the ideas guys. It’s been really helpful

Does anyone try not wearing a bra when at home. Does this not make it worse? With skin to skin

My bra doesn't come off until I get undressed for bed @Boristhecats
I tried going without and hated it as it seemed to make the sweat worse.

Susiesoap7 · 04/12/2019 19:13

I found coconut oil cream helped and the folded tissue. Think I bought it in the poundshop or bodycare.

ridiculousridiculousness · 04/12/2019 19:17

Sudocream works well for me

Sn0tnose · 04/12/2019 19:24

Palmers cocoa butter. Has to be the thick Palmers stuff, anything else is no good. Works every summer without fail.
