Vegan 'milk' chocolate. Does it exist?

Looking for a top up present for a young family member who has recently become vegan. She'd love some chocolate but it all seems to be dark chocolate. Is there anything easily available that would appeal to a teenager and taste milk chocolatey?

Galaxy has a new vegan bar out. I haven’t tried it yet.

Aldi has a Moo Free selection box. I think it's made with rice milk or similar to give a less bitter chocolate.

The Free From stuff is vegan because it's milk free. Any supermarket will have it these days.
We use Sainsbury's and they have a good range of chocolatey treats for Christmas. They even have free from fudge!

Moo free isn’t very nice.

EskewedBeef · 03/12/2019 20:28

I don't imagine it is, but if you want chocolate, are vegan and don't like dark chocolate...

PlanDeRaccordement · 03/12/2019 20:28

Montezuma makes the best vegan chocolates...even milk chocolate

Tesco stock a brand called NOMO in a blue packet which is very nice indeed :)

VioletCharlotte · 03/12/2019 20:30

I've heard the Galaxy vegan chocolate bar is really good. Not tried it myself yet though.

SisterSistine · 03/12/2019 20:31

Not tried them, but Hotel Chocolat have a vegan milk chocolate offering and they are cute snowmen

Try Gorge truffles

Isitme13 · 03/12/2019 20:33

Montezuma is good chocolate.

Booja Booja do the most amazing vegan truffles - you really wouldn’t know they were ‘free from’ at all. They may taste a little dark to someone who doesn’t like dark choc, though (I love dark choc, so it doesn’t put me off!)

IDontDrinkTea · 03/12/2019 20:33

The galaxy vegan bars are amazing. I’d highly recommend the caramel and sea salt one, and the chocolate orange one is also delicious!! Not as keen on the hazelnut one but then I don’t really like nuts so that’s probably to be expected

NutRoastNancy · 03/12/2019 20:33

Vego bars are delicious

aliensprig · 03/12/2019 20:33

@VioletCharlotte apparently its really overpriced for what you get :/ I've yet to try it though

Flower777 · 03/12/2019 20:34

Waitrose used to have a bar that was 54% in their 1 range. Made with coconut milk. That was very close to milk chocolate imo.

Rockbird · 03/12/2019 20:36

Ooh brilliant, thanks so much. Sounds like there is loads out there. Am not a vegan hence clueless!

I'd have thought booja booja were a little too grown up taste-wise for a teenager.

KittyMarion · 03/12/2019 20:41

Galaxy vegan is the best I've had.

KittyMarion · 03/12/2019 20:42

It is £3 a bar though and only available at Tesco.

DariaMorgendorffer · 03/12/2019 20:42

Nobó is really nice if you can get it.

BikeRunSki · 03/12/2019 20:43

Booja Booja truffles are delicious.

Disfordarkchocolate · 03/12/2019 20:49

My teen loves the Booja Booja truffles.

Isitme13 · 03/12/2019 21:52

My dc have all loved booja booja Grin

When my dds were very small, it was practically the only edible chocolate they could have (along with Montezuma) - most free from chocolate was really rank back then (they are 15 and 12 now, so not that many years ago!)

My ds had it easier as there was more alternatives by the time he was born, but he’s still partial to booja booja, and he’s only 7!
