Best decaf tea bags?

wineoclockthanks · 03/12/2019 16:20

By best I mean ones that taste the most like normal proper tea. I already drink red bush but want to try and fool myself it's a real cuppa!

Any suggestions pleased?

Yorkshire tea! I've tried a lot and it's my favourite by a long shot.

RoseyOldCrow · 03/12/2019 16:30

I'll second Yorkshire.
Any others are false economy, or not worth the extra money.

Caspianberg · 03/12/2019 16:41

clipper or twinnings

Yorkshire Tea! Drank them throughout the whole of my pregnancy

mumwon · 03/12/2019 17:05

Sainsburys earl grey de caf (if you like earl grey) cheaper than twinnings version but still a nice cup

Saisong · 03/12/2019 17:07

Sainsbury's - the blue box one.

Themazeoflife · 03/12/2019 17:09

The new PG de caffeinated is horrible, don't bother with that one.

Panicmode1 · 03/12/2019 17:09

Clipper or Yorkshire are my two favourites on that front.....

Plsnomorepeppapig · 03/12/2019 17:11

Twinnings and Tesco finest earl grey

Sleepyquest · 03/12/2019 17:12

Yorkshire tea ones are garbage.

Sainsburys own are much better, believe me! When I was pregnant recently I tried them all!

Annasgirl · 03/12/2019 17:13

If you can get a friend in Ireland to get you them, Barry's Tea, Decaf. Expensive but proper tea.

Shouldbedoing · 03/12/2019 17:16

Yorkshire
Or a decaf Earl Grey

cupoftea84 · 03/12/2019 17:17

First choice is Yorkshire decaf shortly followed by m+s. Can't tell the difference to 'proper' tea other than I don't get the caffeine pick up.

wineoclockthanks · 03/12/2019 17:18

Wow - loads of answers, thanks.

Yorkshire seem popular (sorry @Sleepyquest Smile ) so I'll try those.
Thank you

Another vote for Yorkshire. I've been decaf only for about 10yrs now, so I've tried them all.
Waitrose Essentials are good, as are Aldi.

Tetley are vile and PG tips even worse.

Clipper also nice, but a lot more expensive than the others and not sure they're worth the premium.

Cosmos45 · 03/12/2019 17:21

Definitely Yorkshire Tea - They also do a bedtime brew which is decaf and lovely.

LucaFritz · 03/12/2019 17:23

Yorkshire tea by far worth the extra cost Brew i used to drink the Asda decaff but they changed it and now its wishy washy no matter how its brewed its never strong enough

mousemousse · 03/12/2019 17:24

Yorkshire for sure although the bags have plastic in them

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 03/12/2019 17:31

M&S decaf Earl Grey, it is the best tea eve.

ThinkWittyThoughts · 03/12/2019 17:43

Yorkshire! They're the only ”normal” decaf teabags that taste like tea.

I'm more flexible if going for early grey - twinnings do a nice one.

Yellredder · 03/12/2019 17:43

Morrisons own brand.

Sleepyquest · 03/12/2019 17:43

@wineoclockthanks haha I hope you like them! They reminded me of baked beans but I was a crazy pregnant lady so who knows Grin
