Any Shoe Fitters or Podiatrists About?

I bought a pair of boots a couple of years ago. When I tried them on they seemed very comfortable but on wearing them, I would get really awful pain under the ball of my left foot. I didn't even have to walk any distance in them, I could get it even sitting down.

A couple of months ago, I bought a pair of ankle boots and had exactly the same issue with the left foot. A quick google seemed to suggest metatarsalgia and gel pad inserts were suggested. I tried these but they made no difference.

At the weekend I bought a lovely pair of Clarks boots. I have been wearing them indoors today to try and make sure they are ok but have had the same problem again with the left foot. The pain is not quite as horrendous and the gel pads helped a little but realistically, I don't think I could wear them for any length of time at all.

I just really wanted some advice as to whether there is anything else I can try or if I persevere with them, are things likely to change? I am so gutted to have spent this money for boots which I may never be able to wear.

Thanks for any advice.

I have this and other problems with my feet/ankles and the only advice I can give is buy a good set of hiking boots with self moulding souls they cost £££s but are worth it not to have the crippling pain

What are the heels like on these boots? The higher the heel, the more weight you take through the balls of your feet

Thanks stressedout, I will have a look at self-moulding insoles.

Tatyr the heels are all really low; about one inch maximum. I don’t do heels at all. I have got wide feet, if that makes any difference but they have all been wide fitting boots.

Do you have other shoes that don't cause this pain or is it now a continual pain, even when barefooted? If so, I would ask your GP for a referral to podiatry, as they will be able to diagnose the cause of the pain and suggest treatment /footwear.
