I was just wondering if anyone takes their kids more than once to see Father Christmas ?

We don't. We did when they were smaller so grandparents and DH could see them seeing Santa. Now we go to the school xmas fair that has a brilliant Santa and that's us. Also DD1 is 6 now and I worry too many Santas will have her asking questions. I want to keep the magic going for a wee while longer.

I get what you mean

Accidentally because there was one in the shopping centre the other week and we’re booked for the ‘proper’ visit in December. We just said Father Christmas was making an early surprise visit but ours are quite young so not questioning it yet.

We booked one but DD often saw one at the schoo, party or the party from her performing arts school (he only came to drop off early presents though).

She realised quite early that the guy she saw wasn’t the real. One and practical as she is just assumed that he cannot be everywhere at the same time so he employs guys to help him out. Problem solved.

DH didn't want DS too as he worried it would confuse him. But Santa was at various playgroup parties etc.

This year we are going to Lapland UK tomorrow, and on a steam train with Santa in Xmas eve.

Yep ..muggins here! My dd is 8 and last year we saw 6 santas...ffs it was expensive!!! This year up to press she doesnt seem so bothered! It is her schools Xmas Fayre today and she was telling me yesterday that the school caretaker was going to be santa cos the real one was too busy to come so he was helping out the little kids!

Ruraldream · 30/11/2019 08:15

It's costing me £20 for one bloody Santa!!! WTF!!

TwinkleRedMoon · 30/11/2019 08:17

One visit to Santa in his grotto beginning December and then Breakfast with Santa a few days before Christmas. Usually it would be the same Santa at both.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 30/11/2019 08:18

Yes because there tends to be Santa at every Christmas fete- I’m not paying to visit multiple

CactusAndCacti · 30/11/2019 08:36

Yes. However the Santa at the local Christmas fair and the gym party is the same person because he is the real one

toomuchfaster · 30/11/2019 08:56

We only pay to see one, but have been to several fairs with a grotto already and will be going to several more in the next few weeks. DD knows 'he's not the real Santa' as He only comes on Xmas Eve. She also knows it's expensive to see Santa reps so will only see 1 as she chooses eg face painting instead at other fairs.

HildaSnibbs · 30/11/2019 09:05

Sometimes if we go to school fair then somewhere else and there happens to be one... my kids know they're not the Real Santa, they're helping him out, the Real Santa is way too busy at this time of year to go to every school fete etc Wink

Abneyandteal19 · 30/11/2019 09:07

Technically 2....

1 special family tradition involving a local stream train outing with amazing Santa which is part of their Christmas present and lasts most of the day.

1 at school fair because we can't really refuse! £3 for some more plastic tat to fill our house!!

Stompythedinosaur · 30/11/2019 09:40

Not deliberately, but he makes an appearance at varies local parties and at school. Luckily the same guy plays Santa at all of them so at least he looks the same.
