Resting heart rate on fitbits?

MotherOfLittlePeople · 28/11/2019 23:27

I recently got a Fitbit last week, my resting heart rate is about 70bpm to 67bpm but tonight it's dropped as low as 59bpm. I am extremely tired tonight so wondered if this could be why or is it something to worry about? I've seen it drops slightly lower in a deep sleep but reads that's normal.

Anyone care to share their resting heart beats? I have a bit of anxiety so now worrying a bit 🤦🏻‍♀️

Fitbit calculates your resting heart rate overnight.

I used to find that mine would vary with my cycle, peaking mid month, then plummeting in the few days before I came on.

That's interesting I've just come off my period but that's my first period for 6 months (on the depo).

My resting heart rate sits between 50 and 70. I have normal blood pressure but slightly on the lower side, not sure if that makes a difference, probably not.

Mine’s between 59 and 65- always high around my period.

Mine is always 59 or below. The only time it ever creeps over this is if I drink alcohol or don't exercise enough.

Normal HR is 60 - 100 at rest. Your HR is perfectly normal and it does slow down at night, how slow depends on a number of things because your heart supplies blood and therefore oxygen to your organs, if your organs are digesting food and / removing waste products via your liver and kidneys it can be slightly higher.

I wouldn't worry unless your HR was 50 or lower in the day and 40ish at night, then you would probably be a marathon runner.

That sounds perfectly fine. Mine is usually low 40s but often dips under 40. Long(ish) distance runner which helps.

Thank you for the replies everyone. I won't worry then
