I’m just feeling a bit sorry for myself that’s all.

I’ve just collapsed and having now made it to the bed I’m stuck here! Completely can’t move.
I’m just dreading any of the kids waking in the night, especially not the baby as there’s no way I’ll lift her! How I’m going to make it to the loo I’ve no clue!
Not sure what I’m asking for, I just feel very alone right now.

Why did you collapse OP?

Do you need medical help?

acatcalledjohn · 27/11/2019 21:39

What do you mean, collapsed? Passed out?

Do you have family/friends who can come and stay? Sleep on the sofa perhaps and help out? Call 111 for medical advice.

Not quite sure what else to suggest. At least this will bump your post.

Rosehip345 · 27/11/2019 21:41

No somethings just gone in my back and now I can’t stand or put weight on my spine at all. I’m lying on the bed now, there’s no way I’ll get down the stairs!

Rosehip345 · 27/11/2019 21:42

I don’t think I need medical help or at least I don’t feel like any sort of emergency. I’m just stuck!

Branster · 27/11/2019 21:43

Rosehip345 what exactly happened? Did you faint or fell down of sheer exhaustion or have you got an illness?
Is there anyone you can call or text who could come over to check on you?
How are you feeling right now? Can you actually move your legs?
I’m sending you a virtual hug.
Keep us updated please.

cultkid · 27/11/2019 21:44

You must call 111
Have you wet yourself or anything like that
It's potentially really serious if you can't move, and what if there was an emergency and the kids needed you are you home alone with them or is there another adult

Wehttam · 27/11/2019 21:44

OP it’s not safe to be just stuck like that. You need to get help. 😐

FavouriteSoul · 27/11/2019 21:46

Are you on your own? Where are you? Can I help?

Whatnowagnes · 27/11/2019 21:46

Do you have help

TheoriginalLEM · 27/11/2019 21:46

Ffs call an ambulance woman

MrsMozartMkII · 27/11/2019 21:47

Ambulance lass. Now.

Sksksksk · 27/11/2019 21:48

When you say you are stuck do you mean you actually can’t move or that you can move but don’t want to because it would be too painful?

Did you hear anything when you keeled over - any clunking or popping, cracking sounds from your back? Where is the pain?

Back problems are the pits.

Ohnoherewego62 · 27/11/2019 21:48

I assume this isnt normal. You need to see medical assistance and someone who is able to look after your children whilst you get seen.

Sksksksk · 27/11/2019 21:51

Rosehip is there anyone who can come look after the DC while you get some to check you out?

Rosehip345 · 27/11/2019 21:54

Yes my back cracked and now there’s shooting pains up it. Arms and legs are fine it’s just if I put weight on it.
No not normal which is why I’m so annoyed! I’m never ill 🤦‍♀️ I’m home alone but pretty sure I have enough friends who would help if I really need them. Don’t want to randomly call someone now though when I’m ok as long as I stay put and so do the kids! I guess it’s just times like this when I’m made aware of being on my own that’s all.

Pugsleyaddams · 27/11/2019 21:56

You really need to seek some sort of assistance, how old are your children? What will you do if one of them is sick or the baby wakes?

Branster · 27/11/2019 22:01

Oh poor you, that can be real agony ... But how do you know you’ll be better by the morning when you definitely need to be up and about? I’d suggest you call someone now to stay with you overnight in case you need help in the morning.

acatcalledjohn · 27/11/2019 22:06

Yes my back cracked and now there’s shooting pains up it.

That is ambulance level stuff. You need to phone an ambulance and emergency help from someone you know. Because if anything happens to those kids overnight you can't do anything for them.

Plus it's your back. You need it. Even if it's muscular then strong painkillers could help relax the muscles and make you mobile again.

Ambulance.

Rosehip345 · 27/11/2019 22:09

Not sure, hope they don’t! I’ll have to call someone if it gets to that.

OP posts:
acatcalledjohn · 27/11/2019 22:12

Oh FFS. Don't be a martyr. How are you going to pick the baby up in the morning?

That's right. You are not.

Is it "play the martyr" day on MN today?

Sksksksk · 27/11/2019 22:12

I have an unstable sacro iliac joint. It makes an audible clunking noise when it moves out of place and then all the muscles around it go into spasm. It’s bloody agony and I’ve never been fine the next morning. I certainly couldn’t look after young DC. Now’s the time to call a friend and at the least to phone 111.

Pugsleyaddams · 27/11/2019 22:26

But what if it gets to that at 3am and no-one's answering the phone? What will happen when they inevitably do wake up in the morning, how will you get to them/ get them up and fed, watered etc? How old are they?

Rosehip345 · 27/11/2019 22:29

I’m not a martyr, I’ll just manage. I’ve spoken to a friend they’re aware of what’s happened so will be on alert in case. They’re 5,3 &1

Toddlerteaplease · 27/11/2019 22:31

I'm a nurse and think you should call an ambulance. They can give you painkillers to help you move again. And you need to go to hospital.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/11/2019 22:34

Your back going into spasm is a completely justified use of an ambulance. Its excruciatingly painful. Cuada Equina needs to be ruled out. That could leave you paralysed.
