Are sales of used baby and toddler items (NCT, Mum2Mum etc) still going strong in your area?

Is the 'NCT sale' a big phenomenon in your area or do you think it is gradually being phased out in favour of ebay and Facebook selling?

I have taken tables at NCT sales several times in the last few years, but notice that they don't seem to be that well attended by customers.
I enjoy doing them and generally sell fairly well, but I don't take too much and try to actively sell what I do take. This seems to work quite well. I make about £50 profit, try to help out while I'm there and go home happy enough. However, I often see mums who bring in 10 or 12 enormous boxes of stuff then have to lug it all back into their car at the end, assisted by a very depressed-looking DH!

I also notice that there seems to be more turnover of NCT volunteers or committee members, with people often stepping down due to other commitments - which I do completely understand. So sales seem to get cancelled or not organised in the first place.

Do you think this way of doing things is going strong in your area or are times changing? I have never tried a Mum2Mum market, so don't know if that's a similar story.

Any NCT sale veterans on here?

The biggest sale in our area is organised by a church. Everything is labelled and grouped by type, so prams together, sit'nrides together etc. It's very successful still, but not quite like an NCT sale, I don't think.

Going strong in our area! Always swamped. There often seem to be small toys and books left by the end. Clothes, large toys, pushchairs etc v popular. It's organised by type not by seller.
