Irregular periods - doctor or not?

My periods have always been a little bit wonky, sometimes I get two in a month but not commonly ... I was diagnosed with PCOS a couple of years ago at age 27 . I think I’ve two or three times had 2 months or so of continual bleeding , and a couple of times I’ve skipped a period too .

I’ve had a mirena coil, implant, both types of pill and I’ve had northisterone in the past (taken daily for 6 months to try and regulate cycle) .

I’ve been having periods pretty much every 26-35 days this year, started my period 9th November, finished about 8 days later .

Woke up yesterday - period started again. Am flooding - leaking through nighttime towels - and very sore - taking naproxen and codeine . Due to have had a smear today but GP surgery said to wait another 3 weeks now .

I’m unsure if it’s worth seeing a doctor if PCOS has already been diagnosed , I’m not sure if there’s anything they’d do ? I’ve got an appt next week for an unrelated issue so should I just mention it then?

I think you should mention it but my experience was that they weren’t interested until I was trying to conceive. Perhaps you could try metformin if the pill hasn’t worked for you?

Inositol could be something to try to. I use Myova and buy it on amazon, definitely helped to regulate my periods. It works similarly to metformin so you probably wouldn’t want to use them concurrently.
