🤣🤣🤣

Wasn't their a sitcom years ago where the middle aged couple wore matching tracksuits? Is this the Xmas equivalent?

I'm imagining a bit of this going on,,,

Do you and your family wear matching Christmas jumpers?
yogafailure · 26/11/2019 17:23

Nope - not one of the 5 of us have a Christmas jumper 🤷‍♀️. Much as I love Christmas I can't stand Christmas themed clothing.

DreamingofSunshine · 26/11/2019 17:44

DH and I have had similar (not matching) Christmas jumpers since 2012 and DS has one which looks similar to ours in the size up so he should get 2-3 years out of it, bought secondhand. I don't see why Christmas jumpers=waste, we've had ours years and I buy DS's secondhand then sell them on when he grows out of it. We wear them loads in December.

ForalltheSaints · 26/11/2019 19:42

No. Unless you are wearing the same ones every year for many years you are contributing to fast fashion, the second largest cause of climate change.

percheron67 · 26/11/2019 19:45

No. I don't wear Reindeer Antlers, Sparkly flashing earrings either.

Fizzypoo · 26/11/2019 19:48

No but I want too. I also want matching pyjamas but Dp says no. He wants a grinch costume and has threatened to wear it out all the time.

plightofthealbatross · 26/11/2019 20:45

I think this is the kind of shit that needs to stop for the sake of the environment...

AndwhenyougetthereFoffsomemore · 26/11/2019 20:47

No: all have Christmas jumpers but no link between them. We always have Christmas PJs though and I have eyed up matching ones of those. It's SO not my usual style, but I think it would be comic. I may need sedating...

1066vegan · 26/11/2019 20:55

Dear God no. Is this a thing?

I have a Christmas jumper that I wear for Christmas jumper day at school (primary teacher) but have never worn at home. Dd is a teen so would find it very cringey. The only way I would ever get dp into a Christmas jumper is if I bury him in one.

It doesn't seem that long ago that the first Bridget Jones book and film came out. She sees Colin Firth across the room. He turns and gives her a sexy smile. She goes weak at the knees. Then he turns right round and she sees that he's wearing a Christmas jumper.
Anybody else remember when Christmas jumpers were the height of naffness and most people wouldn't be seen dead in one?

ReginaGeorgeous · 26/11/2019 21:00

God no. Or the hideous family pyjamas.

Ludways · 26/11/2019 21:43

My family would laugh in my face if I suggested such a thing!

BingoLittlesUncle · 26/11/2019 21:45

No. No way do we do Xmas jumpers.

Pipandmum · 26/11/2019 21:48

Absolutely not

EmpressLesbianInChair · 26/11/2019 21:50

Anybody else remember when Christmas jumpers were the height of naffness

I thought they still were?

ShinyGiratina · 26/11/2019 21:51

No.

I've got a couple that I've bought over time and use each year.
DS2 needs his upgrading every couple of years as he grows.
DS1 doesn't do jumpers and has a t-shirt every couple of years.
DH has a traditional knit type one.

Buying jumpers that will get their wear over time, fine.
Keeping up matching sets for growing children or buying things that people don't want to wear, not fine.

ShinyGiratina · 26/11/2019 21:53

Yep, definitely naff, that's the fun of them Wink

They've definitely caught on since crap Christmas jumpers were featured on Bridget Jones and Harry Potter.

It's good to give serious a rest sometimes Smile

MyNewBearTotoro · 26/11/2019 21:54

No, but we do matching pyjamas!

HowDoYouLikeThoseSuedeApples · 26/11/2019 22:21

... and spoil the tailoring lines of my wincyette housecoat ?

MarshaBradyo · 26/11/2019 22:22

Nope

DramaAlpaca · 26/11/2019 22:24

Never have & never would. We wouldn't ever wear matching pyjamas either.

thistimelastweek · 26/11/2019 22:26

That's a hell no

happypotamus · 26/11/2019 22:50

No.
DH doesn't own a Christmas jumper. DC do because school/ Brownies require them to wear them. I don't, but I do have a sweatshirt with The Snowman that I call my Christmas jumper for the one day a year that I need one. We never wear matching outfits on any other occasion, so why would we all get matching jumpers?
