I left a financially and emotionally abusive marriage this year. I'm skint but my god I've freed myself from years of further unhappiness

I accepted I needed some medical help for my depression I am a lot nicer of a person as a result. I still have dark dark days but 95% less.

blamethecat · 25/11/2019 13:22

Finally becoming debt free after around 4years of paying just under £18k off and passing my driving test this morning.

willowmelangell · 25/11/2019 13:27

Stopped faffing and worrying. Got a new job with triple the hours. Self supporting now and hopefully setting an example to my dd.
Well done to you OP for getting out. x x

Getting a job that I knew would be a challenge BUT that could reap fab benefits. So far I'm on the right track.

8Iris8 · 25/11/2019 20:53

Had a book published :)

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/11/2019 20:56

Had my baby daughter. Years of many miscarriages and a veritable shit load of drugs and we got a take home baby Smile

Massively impressed by the book!

fromthefloorboardsup · 25/11/2019 20:56

Leaving an awful job (or I will have very soon anyway). I am terrified of unemployment and finding the job hunt difficult but I needed out.

Also finally admitting I have depression and getting some CBT for it. I nearly ruined my relationship because of it.

fromthefloorboardsup · 25/11/2019 20:58

Excellent work @blamethecat I'm so desperate to pay off my debt, I'd be so much happier!

Goostacean · 25/11/2019 20:59

Had a really successful return to work, albeit briefly as went back already pregnant with DC2 (due now!). Was worried that it would be too hard, tiring, unexciting, but the team were great and I did well. Really pleased with how it worked out!

Exp1etiveDeLighted · 25/11/2019 21:00

Taken on significant new responsibilities at work.
Backed up and sorted out all my zillions of photos properly.
Steered DS (SENs) through his 6th form/college decision making process.

ChrisPrattsFace · 25/11/2019 21:01

Getting through hyperemsis that I genuinely thought would destroy me or make me lose my baby.
Then giving birth to my son, not the labour I wanted but met my beautiful baby nevertheless.

Very proud of myself and not ashamed.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 25/11/2019 21:01

I graduated with a first from the Open University and got my first job in 16 years and I love it Smile On the up for once!!

elvislives2012 · 25/11/2019 21:02

Finished my MSc at age 39 whilst working full time with two small children. BUT even better than that- I have stopped drinking alcohol!! Day 86!!!!!!!!!

atomicnotsoblonde · 25/11/2019 21:02

After two and a half very long years, I finally managed to divorce him.

2019 we finally extracted ourselves
2020 we will make it - all on our own.

Diy2019 · 25/11/2019 21:15

Well done to everyone on your achievements, I love threads like this, they are uplifting.

I've been suffering from postnatal depression and anxiety (and suppressed all my other feelings in the process). But I've been to my gp and am taking anti depressants and also going to a psychotherapist. I've come a long way in the last 2 months and I'm now in bed with my lovely baby asleep on my shoulder and my heart feels full.
