If baby has a high temp should I strip him off?

Not sure if it's a bug or flu he's coming down with but he had a high temp this afternoon (I've got the same but mines with sickness)
I bought his temp down with calpol and he's now asleep in a warm sleepsuit as he won't tolerate covers.
Now I'm panicking if he wakes in the night with his temp back up should I strip him off or keep him warm?

Feel his tummy/back if he wakes or take his temperature and decide what to do then? It would depend whether the calpol keeps his temp down. In a sleepsuit and no covers/grobag he should be fine unless your house is very warm?

Hope you both feel better soon Flowers

I've set the heating so it doesn't go below 18 degrees. Agh hate these bugs!

My little one had a high fever earlier this week, I stripped her to nappy and vest. When the fever broke (she was asleep), I just added blankets when she started to feel cold. I hope you both feel better soon.

Wearing fewer clothes is a good idea to stop temperature rising but not to the extent that baby starts to shiver which is designed to raise the temperature. This is why sponging kids with a high temp is not advisable.

We were told no, put them in one layer less than you are wearing as if they feel too cold their bodies will try heat them up and push the fever higher.
