Birthday party help part 2

Hello everyone,

I'm stuck on ideas for my sons 10th birthday party and I've only got a couple of days to decide and hand out invites. We live in such a shitty area where all the good places are far away. We've done a swimming party and a trampoline party already.

I originally thought a horse party will be good as DS lives animals but most Mums netters thought that the children will be bored, have to do a lot of waiting around etc. So I scrapped that idea.

My DS hates heights so places like go ape, clip n climb he wouldn't like at all.

We did look into tubing, which my son would love but it's an hour and a half away from us. Some of the parents were willing to travel there as they have cars but I know it would be stressful for us as we don't own a car.

Then I thought bowling, DS doesn't like bowling but.. it's the best we can think of. Most of the bowling arenas are booked up. There is only available but it's early in the morning 😫.

Then, whilst looking online, I came across a nice cafe that do pizza and cake parties. The children make pizzas and a giant cupcake with some modelling, including animals (bonus). They have an availability for the date we want and it's not far from us at all ! I was thinking of just inviting a small group of his fiends. What do you think ? It's not babyish is it ?

I'm sure all my dc would have enjoyed that at 9 or 10 Smile

Are you sure it sounds like a good idea ?

My DS went to a few 5th birthday pizza making parties at the local pizza express. That was really messy as they were a bit young for it, and all only wanted to eat plain pizza having had fun sprinkling all sorts of topping on when cooking, but they still had a blast. I think age 10 would be much more appropriate. And doing cake as well really adds to it.

But I think the key question is, does your DS think it sounds fun? Is he creative? Does he like cooking and baking? It's his birthday, after all. If he is keen, do it.

I absolutely would not do something that involves a 90 minute drive. The other parents will hate you, and you'll get a lot of last minute cancellations.

Sounds great, what does ds think?

Yes, he loves the idea. Especially since they'll be making an animal model and a giant cupcake together

I think pizza and cake party sounds brilliant.

I guess I'll book that then.

They children will be making pizza, animal models and will be doing cupcake decorating.

I think that sounds like a great party! Not babyish.
