Does Corsodyl toothpaste actually work?

I've been having problems with bleeding gums. Apparently the interdental brushes I've been using are too small, and have been basically doing nothing. So I've got some bigger ones now, that are causing bleeding, but I understand if I keep doing it it will get better.
Has anyone had any results with this toothpaste as it tastes disgusting, I was almost sick. Do I persevere with it? Any other tips would be useful too

It does work but you're right it tastes nasty. Mouthwash right after? Colgate used to do a 'for gums' toothpaste that was really good, haven't seen it in the shops for a while though.

I didn't use it for bleeding gums but my wisdom teeth were coming through and it was very painful so the dentist recommended this. I also use the mouthwash most days and I find it works

I found the mouthwash more tolerable than the toothpaste - short sharp shock! And it works quicker than the toothpaste

We use it and you get used to the taste quite quickly.

Stripyhoglets1 · 22/11/2019 21:08

Yes it works. Tastes like I'd imagine licking a swimming pool changing room floor would do - but does the job! I have found the taste slightly less grim the longer I use it and it's worth it for the fact its keeping my gums so healthy.

I'm a dentist, the toothpaste is more of a breathe freshener and a lubricator. The action of physically brushing and cleaning in between is what is going to sort out your gums. If you do brush, don't mouthwash at the same time, as you wash away the toothpaste. Just brush spit and go. If you want to mouthwash, do it at a separate time.

My DH uses it, so I do too as can't be faffed with loads of different toothpastes. It was grim at first but am totally used to it now - in fact I think they reformulated it recently to taste better / milder and I miss old taste.

Dunno if it helps though as my gums didn't bleed before I used it either.

My teeth really discoloured- there's no quick fix just keep using the new brushes.

Thanks for replies. My dentist told me not to rinse with water or mouthwash after brushing teeth. Been doing it wrong for 43 years! Will give it a try

Pullupsaretricky I have a couple of areas that the gums are really sore and it's hurts to brush them - do I ignore this and carry on? Or am I making it worse?

I prefer it to Colgate now. It just took a bit of getting used to.
