What's so good about the bugaboo?

I went to have a look but they seem so basic? What's so good about them?!

They let people know you have money Wink

Expressedways · 21/11/2019 21:06

You tone up lifting them as they are so damn heavy?! Unless it’s the Bee, that’s the only one I’d personally consider.

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 21/11/2019 21:06

Have you actually pushed one? Genuinely the most user friendly, quality pushchairs ime. I have 4 dc, all spread out over the last 15 years and have had different bugaboo models for each, and I can’t fault them.

I’ve pushed a non-bugaboo and survived/had
more money in the bank!

Amara123 · 21/11/2019 21:08

Lovely push and they seem to last well.

Muddytoes1 · 21/11/2019 21:09

I borrowed one and honestly I wouldn’t fork out for one. Was a chameleon and it was lovely to push but annoying to put up and down and the basket kept catching when it was folded down. It irritated me so I took it out and had no basket which was annoying. Really didn’t like the hand brake either. The first pushchair I borrowed had a foot brake which was better. Not having anymore but if I. Did I reckon I’d just use a sling when they were tiny then go straight on to a cheapie stroller when they were big/strong enough.

Yoohoo16 · 21/11/2019 21:10

Not sure. My friend has one (love her to bits but she never has anything less than super expensive) and she’s disappointed with it.

Sipperskipper · 21/11/2019 21:10

I’ve got the buffalo which they don’t make anymore, but it has been great. Super easy to fold / put in the boot, and great on rough / muddy terrain. Never gets stuck on anything and is really easy to push around.

Sipperskipper · 21/11/2019 21:11

Oh and it has a foot brake, plus a really big basket underneath (bike goes in there when DD is tired).

GrumpyHoonMain · 21/11/2019 21:17

About 10 years agowhen the only premium off-road options where Buggaboo and icandy it was probably a best buy if you wanted something sturdy that could handle mud, grass, and look stylish in town (icandy’s tyres were and still are easily punctured). But there are a lot more US and Euro brands available in the market now which are cheaper, handle better in the outdoors and look better too.

Whodoyoutrust · 21/11/2019 21:50

Which model?

I've had loads of prams, including silver cross, uppababy, baby jogger and 3 bugaboos. The buffalo is hands down the best pram I've ever owned. So easy to push, large basket, easy to put up and down, surprisingly compact in the car and so roomy. The amount of time I spend pushing a pram, the ease of pushing is my most important feature!

user1493413286 · 21/11/2019 21:57

I know someone has said they’re heavy but it was the most lightweight one we found (chameleon) for going up and down our flat stairs. Light to push after a section and can be taken on rough terrain. Lasted my DD for a long time and now in just as good shape for my second DC.

The frogs are the best. You can get one for £100 on eBay and they are lightweight and look good.

Expressedways · 21/11/2019 22:10

I have actually pushed them! I used a chameleon for a week when I swapped with a friend so she could use our YoYo for a holiday which I hated, it was heavy to push, awkward to fold, I didn’t like the break position, took up the entire boot of the car. Scott Dunn also loaned us a Donkey when we were skiing. It handled the snow pretty well so I’d maybe get the appeal if you’re the outdoorsy type and I liked the side basket but it was just big and awkward. I’m not a massive pram type at all. The Bee I actually really liked and strongly considered for DD but the YoYo won out as we travel a fair bit. The new Ant also looks good but it wasn’t out when we were buying ours.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 21/11/2019 22:20

I had a bee as it was the only pram that would fit in the boot of a Toyota Argo and it was amazing, lightweight, stylish and one pram did from birth to 4. Highly recommend the bee.

ReallyLoveChickens · 21/11/2019 22:26

I had a Cameleon for my first child and a Bee for my second child. I have nothing bad to say about them. I suppose that is what makes them good.

Eeeeek2 · 21/11/2019 22:43

I love my buffalo (bought second hand) still going strong on our dc2 who is at least the 4th child in it. Pushes lovely even off road, great basket, handle is great for a short ass and tall dh. Doesn’t tip when you leave the nappy bag on and take child out. Brilliant carrycot that lasts until 6 months plus.

I also had the donkey and it was really useful to be able to adapt between one and two seats. But it isn’t as lovely as the buffalo.

Bought a stroller for the end of pregnancy 2 as buffalo was difficult to lift out of car. Couldn’t wait to pack it away, flimsy, ratterly and ds didn’t like it either.

MoodLighting · 22/11/2019 13:56

Love my Bee, it's fab for city busses and works from birth. I got mine exdisplay a lot cheaper but its lasted a lot better than my friend's' umbrella fold pushchairs.
