She has got autism and dyspraxia and has a very fussy daughter
We cut milk out of her diet to see if that helped
She eats mostly chips, bread and pasta.
She is on the contraceptive pill for awful periods
She takes propranolol for migraines and anxiety
Wondered what it could be

Sounds like she needs a poo !

TwattingDog · 21/11/2019 19:22

Probably the excessive volume of carbs if she's living off chips, bread and pasta.

I have IBS and too much bread causes me the same.

ChocAuVin · 21/11/2019 19:23

I had this as a teen - found out in my 20s it was gluten intolerance and could have cried for all the years of debilitating embarrassment

My son was like this at that age, he was legendary at school for being able to clear a classroom, teachers would visibly cower when he walked in!
At home was the same, unbelievably loud and putrid.
His diet consisted of chips, bread & butter as he was scared of eating different foods, once he started trying other foods gradually down the line, the farts stopped, his friends were devastated & teachers were thrilled....Confused

DonnaDarko · 21/11/2019 19:25

She needs a more varied diet for starters. also, try switching to gluten free stuff!

GrumpyHoonMain · 21/11/2019 19:27

It could be gluten intolerance. But it’s more likely to be too much refined carbs. She needs more fibre / vegetables

LoonyLunaLoo · 21/11/2019 19:28

Try Actimel.

GoldfishGirl · 21/11/2019 19:39

I have IBS. Cut down bread to one slice a day. I am guessing she eats a lot of cheese? Cut that down to 20g a day.

Disfordarkchocolate · 21/11/2019 19:42

Have you check the side effects of her medication. Most meds affect my digestion in some way. It's my kryptonite but I don't have a superpower.

Activityset · 21/11/2019 19:44

Are you getting help re her limited diet? Easy for people to say to change her diet but with autism is really difficult to do that which is understandable.

Definitley diet related!

ClapHandsAndSaveTheFairies · 21/11/2019 19:52

If I lived on that, my constipation would get bad.

When I'm even a bit constipated, my farts are frequent and awful and my whole family dive for the windows.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 21/11/2019 19:53

Probably the diet but could be IBS OP

I have IBS and, without wishing to sound gross, most mornings I have to open my bathroom window wide for a while . Its not nice for me either lol , but certainly not nice for the rest of my family whom live here.

Ferretyone · 21/11/2019 19:59

@unicornsrule

One thing - as Granny would say - "does she spend enough time sitting on the toilet?".

I doubt that you would be able to persuade her but a number of charcoal tablets will cut the wind. You might be able to make an imaginative black shake as they do not taste too interesting and they need to be "crunched" and swallowed with water otherwise

Eckhart · 21/11/2019 20:00

If there's no way around her eating predominantly those 3 beige foods, see what happens if you heavily weight her diet in favour of the chips, and have less and less bread and pasta. It's not healthy but it will help you determine if it's to do with processed wheat, which would be a big step.

IncrediblySadToo · 21/11/2019 20:03

It’ll be the huge carb load (especially pizza), but with Autism you have to pick your battles and this may not be one you choose!

doritosdip · 21/11/2019 20:05

Agree with the food intolerance theory.

Spitsandspots · 21/11/2019 20:07

These seem to have good reviews for digestive issues. Just ordered some for our teen

My 14 ds has dyspraxia and a similar fussy diet and used to stink! He has a probiotic tablet everyday now Holland and barrett sell them where you can break the capsule to get powder out if she doesn't like taking tablets or if it's easier not to tell her. No more smelling now seems to have improved digestive problems 100%

Rainbowx2 · 21/11/2019 20:23

They are on a black Friday deal now, less than half price www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-mega-potency-acidophilus-capsules-60001540?skuid=001540

unicornsrule · 21/11/2019 20:36
