I just love my kids...

I just bloody love them to bits.

I'm not going to boast, I just wanted to put it down somewhere that I think they're incredible, wonderful people and that I'm so proud to be their mum.

Obviously they do my head in too and I might hide from them and motherly duty from time to time, but overall, they make my heart swell near to bursting.

Anyone else care to proclaim their undying love to their kinder? Be loud and be proud!

DS is currently doing my head in but I LOVE HIM. I think it all the time, that I'm so lucky to have him and that he is amazing. His only word is mama at the moment and whenever he says it I just think "I made you, but you made me, too".

OohEekAah · 21/11/2019 10:28

Yes to this thread ❤️ I too love my Son and couldn't be prouder of the amazing person he's growing into, I never knew my life was so empty until he arrived. Kids are bloody awesome!!

Can't stand mine

I’ve only got the one but she is definitely one of the best. As a teenager she isn’t always easy but is kind, compassionate, a good friend to others and so funny she makes me cry with laughter. I am beyond proud of her and love her so bloody much.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 21/11/2019 10:43

@Tvstar

Most people do love their kids, but sometimes we feel it more. Yesterday was such a day for me.

Sorry to confuse you Smile

I have 4 age 16 to 21 and 100% the very best part of my life. Amazing beings who I just love spending time with.

Love my 25 year old niece to pieces too she lived with us for 18 months in her teens and she is amazing too

I do tell them over and over usually getting rolled eyes over it but hey it's the truth

LeonoraFlorence · 21/11/2019 10:57

Me too. I feel so lucky to be mummy to such amazing little girls.

Doingitaloneandproud · 21/11/2019 10:57

Aww me too, I only have the one, but he's so amazing, yesterday I got home to a drawing of him and I with the words 'I love you so much mummy' Heart melted!

Spudlet · 21/11/2019 11:02

I was having a little weep to my mum on FaceTime last night (the car suddenly needs lots of unexpected work before Christmas and arrrrrrgh) and DS came over and started stroking my arm... he’s nearly 4 and had a speech delay, and there’s an ongoing debate amongst the various professionals that see him whether or not he is on the autistic spectrum. But he saw I was sad and wanted to make it better ❤️ He’s such a kind little soul, and when you understand his speech (which is blossoming at the moment!) his face lights up in delight. I adore him.

I also occasionally fantasise about putting him on eBay, but that’s ok too, right? Grin

This is nice. I'm nearing 30, been married for almost four years and so it has been on my mind.

I've never wanted kids before, DH has always been on the fence but recently we've had a couple of "what if" conversations. I'm terrified that I'd hate my kid, hate being a mum and regret the whole thing terribly. It's nice to see these comments.

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 21/11/2019 12:47

My boys are lovely 😊 it was my birthday this week and they really put a lot of effort into making it special for me. I had coffee in bed first thing, cards, gifts, and even a cake. I’m a single parent and don’t have any family around, so if they didn’t do it no one would. They might not always get along, but they are growing into kind, loving, and generous young men.

LoseLooseLucy · 21/11/2019 12:49

I love my kids, but I also thought of Peter Andre when I saw the thread title.

Goodnightjude1 · 21/11/2019 12:50

How lovely to read something nice on here OP!

I have 3 positively wonderful children. DD1 is loyal, caring, generous, kind, an absolutely fabulous mummy to her DD and has a brilliant sense of humour. She’s my ‘little star’ any dark days are instantly made better when she’s around.
DD2 is funny beyond belief. She is kind and understanding and a wonderful friend to her friends. She sulks like it’s an Olympic sport sometimes but otherwise she’s bright, loving and fun to be around.
DS is loyal above all else. He will defend anyone he cares about with everything he has. He has a smile that would melt anyone’s heart and loves to make other people happy. He gives everything he does 100%.

They are amazing people and I’m so proud they’re mine 🥰

BrieAndChilli · 21/11/2019 12:57

of course everyone loves their kids even if they are awful criminals.

I do get moments where I think to myself - i havnt done too badly, they dont get into trouble, doing well at school, helpful and polite (most of the time) - of course we are only just entering the teen years so it could all change.

I was thinking yesterday that DD is such a lovely girl, shes just like me but without the awful childhood so I have really high opes for her future.

Contraceptionismyfriend · 21/11/2019 13:40

I do just absolutely adore them at the moment. They are hard. But dear God I just love the bones off of them.

They are so bloody perfectly imperfect. They're funny and my so is just so crazy smart! Where did that come from?!

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 21/11/2019 14:33

DD is 23, and among the most awesome people I know. She did her degree while pregnant and breastfeeding, has found a truly lovely man for a partner, and has produced DGS, who can be found in Classics lighting up the lives of all who meet him.

Bluerussian · 22/11/2019 16:44

This is a lovely thread. It's nice to have a place where we can talk positively about our children without being accused of boastfulness or showing off; yes some people are like that, I came across that attitude on several occasions at work when people would be excited about something their child had done or achieved and others were sarky behind their back. I learned early on to keep talk about my child to the minimum at work.

However on this thread I can enjoy what others say about their children and praise mine to the rooftops! Er, can't think of anything right now :-) but will be back, watch this space.

mbosnz · 22/11/2019 16:46

It amazes me how I can simultaneously feel overwhelmed with love for these two people while wanting to kick their arses into the middle of next week. You shouldn't be able to feel those two emotions so powerfully at the same time!

Bluerussian · 22/11/2019 16:51

mbosnz - :-). A lot of parents do, it's normal. No child is perfect, neither is any parent.

Annasgirl · 22/11/2019 16:54

Oh I love my 3 kids. It sometimes overwhelms me. I tell them all the time, and I am so proud of them, they are thoughtful, kind, and loving. And my mum said being a grandmother is even better - but I think I have a long way to go yet.

Thatagain · 22/11/2019 16:57

I love my children all 4 of them so much I thank God I am there mum everyday I also adore my grandsons they are so lovely to there nan and it's so refreshing when they call me. I am shocked at how intelligent they are as I didn't do good at school and all of my dcs left school with amazing gcse results that and how kind people they have turned out to be love them and blessed. To all the mothers with young dcs the love grows with your DCs.

littlemissminor · 22/11/2019 16:58

Me too! I have DD aged 2, and DS who is nearly 3 weeks - I didn't ever think it was possible to love anything as much as I love them, and I could burst with pride every day.

Artesia · 22/11/2019 17:03

Lovely sentiments all, but am totally baffled by this And I am so proud I have a boy and a girl

Would you be less proud if you had two of the same sex? And what is it about it that makes you proud, given it wasn’t anything within yours or their gift to influence. By all means shout loudly about your children- be proud of their accomplishments, delight in their kindness, or humour, or courage. But proud of them because of their genitals- I just don’t get it....
