What do I get my fussy DM for Xmas?

She's 75, in good physical shape and likes the finer things. My budget is under £50. She doesn't like perfume, toiletries, ornaments, candles, or food or drink items ('already too much food around at Xmas'). Jewellery and clothes are out as I'd probably get it wrong. She likes reading, but my taste and hers are not the same. She doesn't cook. She likes gardening but wouldn't want a book on it. It has to be something I can put in the post as I won't be seeing her this Christmas due to distance. Vouchers are a bit boring aren't they? I'm totally stuck. I bought her tickets to Wimbledon last year which went down a treat but unfortunately my finances are a lot tighter this year. Any ideas, Mumsnetters?

I think this is the link to the RHS shows: www.rhs.org.uk/shows-events

Rather than flowers, could you send her one nice plant through the post at the start of every season so she has something to look forward to?

Either from a local to her nursery or a good online one - there are some great ones that sell seasonal plants at a great rate - the sites can be a bit basic but that's because you're not paying as much for fancy web designers!

Also check out the Mia Tui 'Sue Shoppers' - about a fiver but very practical and light reusable bags - different from others because they have two sides and a zip section in the middle - I've given them to my mum and aunt and they both like them as they're so light - when they went travelling they used them as day bags or to go to the pool or get the groceries... miatui.com/collections/sue-eco-shopper

Groupon voucher for a lovely meal somewhere that she wouldn't normally go.

Overnight stay at spa hotel near her

The Rosemoor RHS gardens are in Devon and very beautiful. Would she enjoy a day somewhere like that?
