Xmas day

So I had plans this Xmas for the first time in 40 years for it not to have any special shit assigned to the day. DC1 is n the other side of the world and DC2 was in a secure relationship.

DC2 relationship is now on the brink so may be alone on Xmas day.
Would I be so harsh to say you are welcome to join me, but it won't be a 'traditional family Xmas' we will most probably eat a pre prepared roast of some description and just drink and watch crap tv as this is the Xmas I have been dreaming of for so long. No expectations from anyone just for once please myself, so if DD would like to join me and she is most welcome as long as it's a deconstructed Xmas

Absolutely, that sounds much nicer. It's what I'm having too.

AuchAyeTheNo · 19/11/2019 22:07

Your DC2 might prefer that if you ask. Perhaps a day of just whatever you want to do would be better than routine crap

AuchAyeTheNo you may be correct just that one has always been a Christmas Day is a big day whereas I really need a small day

Christmas Day is what you make it. A small easy going day doesn’t make it any less special

Goodness, it sounds marvellous!
I'm working Christmas Day and the bosom of my family will be over 200 miles away having a "proper" Christmas. I'm acting all brave but after an interminable amount of years being jolly, I'm secretly utterly chuffed. I should almost be home in time for Gavin and Stacey Grin
