Do you have an Ikea Duktig Play kitchen?

I'm thinking of getting DS a play kitchen for Christmas as he loves the one at nursery. I like the look of the Ikea one and their stuff is normally bomb proof.

If you have one, could you be kind enough to tell the height of the worktop from the floor, without using the feet to raise its height I.e. on the lowest possible setting? Their website doesn't tell me and when I've contacted Ikea in the past, they haven't replied, so I'm hoping the power of mumsnet can help. No point in schlepping to Ikea if it's too big for DS.

One of these www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/duktig-play-kitchen-birch-60319972/

Thanks in advance.

this picture shows it next to what looks like an kallax unit. You need to scroll to the bottom to see the image I mean.

kallax dimensions.

Ooh thanks - I like your way of thinking. The kitchen in that picture has the feet on it, but there may be others. I'm off to have a look!

I've just measured ours and it's 50cm without the feet.

@UselessTrees Thank you so much, that's very kind

We had one, my 1 year old (at the time) and 3 yea told were both easily able to use it.

However, it is NOT bomb proof! Our children had broken it within months (snapped doors off ect) now they are older (3 +5 ) we have purchased them a different one for Christmas 🤞 this one lasts Grin

Ours is 7 years old and going strong. Baby started playing with it at 18 months. Cant reach the 'microwave' yet but everything else is fine.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 19/11/2019 16:38

They have just brought out a duck egg blue version too.

'Bomb proof' may be stretching it with DS around but hopefully more robust than some cheaper ones!

It's the turquoise one I have my eye on.

But now I have a 'husband problem'. I've suggested it and he paused and then said well at least the colour is gender neutral. WTF! I didn't discuss it any further because I can't be bothered with an argument this evening but I assume he means kitchens are for girls!!! Even though DS loves the toy one at nursery and spends every evening emptying the kitchen drawers at home. Need to tackle this when I've calmed down!

We bought it for DS last year when he was two and he loves it. He’s got a tea set, wooden ice creams, shopping basket of play food and he loves it all. Sets out his toys on the floor for a tea party. Only thing that disappoints him is the tap doesn’t dispense real water!

GruffalOH · 19/11/2019 22:13

My boy plays with ours WAY more than my girl does. Gives me hope, as my husband rarely cooks (but excels in washing up Wink ).

Celebelly · 19/11/2019 22:18

Aldi have a couple of kitchens in their wooden toy sale, if it's still ongoing. We picked up one for £30.

dinosaurtoot · 19/11/2019 22:32

Both dc ignore ours mostly.

They occasionally slam a few doors and my 1 year olds favourite trick at the moment is to pop the sink out and climb up from the cupboard beneath and get stuck...which is a fun game Hmm...Grin

But it's barely been used to properly play with! I love it though!
