4yr old party? What to buy, how much to spend?

Ideas? Etiquette? Money in a card seems a bit crass for this age, but hardly know the child, so no idea what to do?!

I typically spend the equivalent of what my sons space at the party would cost. I prefer having a wrapped gift to hand over, lego and art supplies are trusty favourites.

I always buy craft stuff, you cant go wrong with coloured paper/pens/sparkly stuff to glue on things.

I normally buy crafty stuff too from Wilkos and put in nice gift bag.

I go for craft related things if I don’t know them - or if it’s a girl as I’m clueless what they like! 🙈🙈
Normally my DS can give me an idea of what they play with at nursery etc

Craft things, educational toys, a book. At 4 it's easy, they still like the unwrapping! For a kids party (school) somewhere between £5-10 is fine, think quantity over quality at that age

£5-10; sticker books, colouring books, actual books from the works are cheap too

How do you know the child? Is it through your child’s school or through work / family etc? I would get a STEM toy and a book (National Geographic do good quality but cheap ones) if my child knew them vaguely from school. If through work / family - I might put vouchers in a card.
