Depression - welfare/pick me up box for my BF

bodgersmash · 16/11/2019 21:31

My best friend has battled with depression for a very long time. Her FIL and MIL have both been diagnosed with cancer within weeks of each other and the prognosis is not good. She's struggling hugely.

I would really like to send her a little box of things to let her know I'm thinking of her but I'm struggling for ideas.

So far I've thought of a box of her favourite chocolates, some soft bamboo socks but then I'm stuck.

Please help, collective mind of MN...

How about something from Thisworks or Neal’s Yard with Lavender in for sleep/relaxation - either a bath product or a pillow spray?

Someaddedsugar · 16/11/2019 21:34

And just to add what a lovely friend you are! Such a thoughtful idea

bodgersmash · 16/11/2019 21:49

Thanks, that's a great idea. She does struggle with sleep.

And thank you, she has been an incredible friend to me and so I just want to do something small for her while she's going through all this.

I was in primark today, and there was so many snuggly /comforty things, that are perfect cosy nights in. And being primark - not massively expensive.
Hot chocolate. Flowers for your friend and you.

What a lovely idea how about some nice hand cream and a face mask?

bodgersmash · 16/11/2019 22:56

She's not really massively into make up/face masks/that kind of thing, which makes it harder. Not a bubble bath and a face mask kind of woman, whereas that would be right up my street!

I have a Primark locally so will check that out, thanks. Hand cream could also work as she's out walking the dog in the cold and would be unlikely to spend money on hand cream for herself. Thanks x
