Stomach bug - should I be worried?

Our twins (3) have had a stomach bug all week. DT2 was sick Friday night then Monday morning, through Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

DT1 started being sick on Monday morning through Tuesday and Wednesday morning and was randomly sick again yesterday afternoon.

DT2 seems okay but DT1 really doesn’t want to eat. He’s had very little all week. He is drinking and having wet and dirty nappies, but less than usual. I’ve been giving him dioralyte with mixed success!

It’s the lack of eating that worries me - would you see a doctor? He’s sleeping peacefully now but wondering if I should try and get him seen by OOH tomorrow. Is there anything they can really do, especially now he’s not being sick any more? I don’t want to waste an appointment but I also don’t want to ignore it if it’s a concern.

We’ve only had one really bad stomach bug before but that was more intense vomiting for a couple of days - with this they’ve been sick 2x a day max but for longer.

We’ve all had it in our house - it’s a brutal bug this one! I’m never too concerned about children eating, as long as they’re drinking. They’ll soon let you know when they’re hungry again! I’d offer plenty of toast, dry cereal and bananas and let them have what they want.

Ready salted crisps are a good one because they are tasty, got fats, SALT, carbs. And not too much of a disaster if vomited back up.

Hope things improve. Sometimes bugs just linger.the drinking is a good sign. I would remove dairy as much as possible as it can irritate sore tummies.

Thank you. They’re allergic to dairy so don’t have to worry about that luckily!

They are both autistic and non verbal so it’s really difficult to know how they’re feeling, what’s wrong etc. It just may be that he feels sick still and doesn’t want to eat much, I’m just worried it’s been going on so long.

Will see how he gets on tomorrow.

After not being sick since Friday he seemed on the mend yesterday and was eating a bit more. Then last night he was violently sick again.

Is it normal for toddlers to have a sickness bug for a week, with days where they’re not sick? I have no real frame of reference apart from that one bug last year.
