really groggy in the morning - tips?

Just wondered if anyone has any good tips for me - I am a LP and work hard but always wake up groggy and can't really get going in the morning until around lunchtime!

This is not ideal because I waste the first few hours of the day fannying around drinking coffee and generally not doing enough stuff.

I don't go to bed too late - maybe 10.30 - 11.30pm, get up around 7.30am.

Come lunchtime / afternoon I get into my groove and have loads of energy to work through everything - at which annoying time it's time to leave for the school run, as soon as I get into my work flow!!!

Needless to say I am a lot less productive than I could be.

Any tips and advice welcome.

I had/sometimes still have - this problem. I had to realize i had gotten into a mind set where i almost 'let myself off' of being groggy. Like i accepted it were just part of who i were, but this is no good because nothing gets done about it. Its a lot to do with procrastination which i have spent years trying to manage. What i have to do, is to force myself to do something productive first thing even if i literally CBB at ALL. Force yourself too, because once you begin, you do just naturally go into a flow and the energy you have after lunch will come in the morning. If you can just push yourself to do that first productive thing you should hopefully get into a grooove.
Stop telling yourself that youre groggy in the morning and start telling yourself that you can control your morning groginess.

Maybe you are dehydrated? I've trained myself to wake up during the night and to drink water. Get up a bit earlier for a shower, 6.30am when the house is quiet and wake up in peace.

Are you waking up at the wrong time in your sleep cycle? They say each sleep cycle is an hour and a half long so if you wake up during the deep sleep phase you would be extra tired. They recommend counting backwards in one and a half hour blocks to ensure you wake up at the end of your sleep phase and you should feel more awake. So if you get up at 6:30am, ideally you should be in bed by either 11pm, or 9:30pm or 12:30pm.

Get your thyroid checked out. I can’t remember if it was under or overproduction but it caused me being tired nearly all morning until early lunchtime regardless how much tea I drink.

In my case the intuitiv, problem with the thyroid was related to stress, as soon as the issue I had was solved I was taken off the medication and I never had it again. But my blood work was totally of the chart when it was checked.
