Can anyone recommend the warmest waterproof coat for someone with raynauds?

not raynauds but I'm generally a cold person.

I like hiking coats - warm, waterproof and windproof. ideally with an inner fleece jacket.

Not raynauds - just wanted to throw a recommendation in for these. I have to sleep in socks all year round and my feet are always freezing. These are the first pair I've ever had to take off as my feet were too warm Shock (they usually feel like ice)

Coat wise I have seen good things about this

I have a landsend squall jacket for walking the dog, even in snow I wear just a tshirt under it as it gets too warm.

If your not looking for a branded one I bought a Next technical parka last year in the sale for £40. I've never been so hot in a coat! I have to have it undone most of the time as it is a proper little oven!

OrangeZog · 14/11/2019 20:48

Mountain Warehouse always do really warm, affordable clothes to keep every part of the body warm. I’ve also got fingerless gloves that plug into the usb in my car (not for when driving though) or computer and some proper snow boots are really good for feet.

Another raynauds sufferer here!
I bought myself a Didriksons Nancy
It's super lightweight, really warm and has lots of pockets! I love it!

NeverEnoughCake2 · 14/11/2019 23:28

Another vote for the Seasalt Janelle here - I'm 5ft 9 and it's plenty long enough.

Gloves-wise, I have a pair of these and they are the toastiest things I have ever owned. I think you can also get them from Amazon/Sock Shop.

Bloodybridget · 15/11/2019 06:36

I bought a Seasalt Janelle coat recently, it's not as warm as I'd expected although it does cover most of me and the waterproofing is great. Wish I could find a properly warm sweater, everything I see is mostly synthetic and flimsy.

Mountain equipment triton jacket, I bought a small men’s as it was a bit longer than the women’s, also sleeves cover my hands. It is a fab coat!

I have this and stay toasty warm on the coldest days of winter on freezing stable yards

Greenbutterlfy566 · 15/11/2019 11:23

Wow, thanks again everyone. Really appreciate it.

What does everyone think of the north face artic parka?

And would snow boots be too heavy for everyday wear?

I also have the Seasalt Janelle. I love it.

SpoonBlender · 01/12/2019 22:02

Late followup (trawling my old Watches!) but the Arctic is about half as warm as the McMurdo, but is obviously far better looking with the fitted shape. Snowboots don't have to be heavy!

Did you already decide on/get your winter warmers?

LightOfAThousandStars · 07/11/2020 12:50

OP did you find your warm winter coat in the end?

doctorboo · 07/11/2020 14:41

I’ve got a coat from decathlon which is good up to -10c and I originally got it to wear for Forest Schooling and playground duty in the snow over winter and it did a very good job.

For my feet I switch between thin walking socks and silk socks as it starts to get colder, and if I know I’ll be outside for a long time I wear my walking boots.

Gloves wise, last winter I wore running gloves under those fingerless glove like the ones from turtledove(?) which really helped as I still needed to be able to do fiddly stuff (RA makes my fingers funny on a warm day let alone a cold one).

I’m in a new role now and spending 2.5 hour blocks of time outside in the playground ( 😭 / 😄 ) and I’m on the lookout for a decent heat trapping jumper that I can easily ditch when I’m back inside the Nursery!

alpinia · 07/11/2020 14:47

I have the North Face parka. It's been pretty good warmth wise but the waterproofing wasn't as great as I'd hoped after the first year.

I'm looking at the long coach jacket from the horsey company whis.nl next. It has heated pockets and a heated back panel. Just looking to see where I can try it on. It looks a dream for the cold of hand.
