Words whose meaning you always forget

Is there a word you always forget what it means and you need to look it up in a dictionary?

I had to look up "pusillanimous" for the umpteenth time today. Timid, lack of courage. For some reason, I equate it with being difficult or obstructive and I'm wrong.

Are there words like this you always forget what they mean?

Minatue - do you mean minutiae?

If so its one of my most frequently used words! It means all those nit picky stupid little details that I can never be bothered with in life.

Hyperbole. Not so much what it means but I remember my English teacher, about 1 million years ago, making a point about it’s pronunciation which I’ve forgotten and never remembered thus I avoid using it

I always think “bemused” should mean a sort of “smug amusement”, even though I know it doesn’t... but whenever I see someone pulling that sort of face, that word comes to find.

And the word I can never forget is quanked, because it describes me most days and I use it often (it means overcome with fatigue).

Loving this and nodding away! Esp subjective and objective.

Speaking of "oxymoron", how are we pronouncing it? I was all for "oxy-more-on", until I heard a professor type say "ox-IMMOR-un" like "Decameron". Confused.

Nonplussed for me- I think it should mean not bothered, instead of what it actually means....which I can’t remember!!
