Got to have a General Anaesthetic in December and am flying six days later, only a short flight uk to Ireland. I'm a worrier so just checking if anyone knows Smile

Uk to Ireland should be ok provided you drink lots and move around lots. I was told not to fly longhaul up to 12 weeks after GA

I imagine you'll be fine, people jet off for gastric bands and butt lifts and seem to be okay. Good luck 👍🏻

Thank you! That's true fabulouslyglam!

Depends what the GA is for, there’s an overview here: www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/accidents-first-aid-and-treatments/when-can-i-fly-after-surgery/

Thanks for link I will have a read of that now, GA is for a uterine biopsy and D&C, quite a quick procedure I think

Oh I see, yes that’s a pretty quick procedure. Talk to the doctors when you are in hospital, and check you’ll be covered by your travel insurance just in case there are complications (eg bleeding), but it sounds like you’ll be ok to fly.
