Best birthday present you've ever been given?

Don't know why this came into my head....idle musings of an insomniac I guess.
But what is the best birthday present you've ever had, and why?
Mine isn't wildly exciting, but has been incredibly useful. My brother gave me 3 things for my 18th, just before I left for University. I got a lovely soft jumper from Principles, a sandwich toaster and a Good Housekeeping cook book. The jumper is sadly long gone, but I still have the sandwich toaster and the cook book and use them both regularly, 35 years later. The cook book is full of notes that I have scribbled in and brings back memories of occasions when I cooked particular things. I now have an entire book case full of cook books, including a more modern version of the Good Housekeeping one, but if I am in doubt about anything I always go back to my old favourite. In all honesty, I could throw all the others out and if I kept that one I would be fine. I have had more expensive presents, more exciting presents and more beautiful presents over the years but I love that book and I love that my brother was so thoughtful.
What's your number 1 present of all time?

My ebike (40th). Use it all the time to get around. Never have to worry about parking. And I like the fresh air. Useful and fun.

I'm Australian. When I was younger and travelling but not flush with cash, I went to Canada to visit visit a friend and then to England during our six weeks' Christmas holidays.

My mum gave me enough cash and insisted that I use it to stay for a two night package including meals at the Feathers in Ludlow - I'm not sure if it's still open as it always seems to be closing for renovations. We had stayed there for one night a couple of years before when we were on an inns tour. But I had always loved Ludlow ever first since visiting it after reading Malcolm Saville's books as a kid (I was an adult when I first visited).

That was decades ago, and I've stayed at lovely places since, but I still remember that so, so fondly, as an oasis in amongst all the B&Bs.

A brand new car. Second runner up my beloved Gucci watch.
