Vegetarian menu, good for veggies and omnies?

I entertain a lot, and frequently entertain vegetarians but as I'm generally entertaining majority carnivores I'll make a menu centred around meat with a veggie dish as an adjunct and sides for all.

This weekend the demographic has tipped over to the vegetarian so I thought I'd go completely vegetarian with the menu, so as a vegie or an omnie, would you be happy to eat this?

I was going to do an antipasti-style strater platter of grilled augergines, olives, chicory with blue cheese and walnuts, honeyed balsimic figs with burrata, panzanella (with homemade sourdough), and a homemade foccacia.

Then a purple-sprouting broccoli and leek tart with tallegio roast potatoes, garlic mushrooms and a green salad.

Puddings are poached pears with fudge sauce and creme fraiche, and a blackberry and pistachio parfait

It sounds quite balanced to me but I'd appreciate any comments!

Its this one Mucky, I'll obviously use a parmesan alternative, I've made it before and subbed butter for olive oil when sweating the leeks and put a bit of fesh thyme in the egg mixture (tarragon would probably work well too), it's very good!

The only criticism I'd have is that it is very cheese and dairy based. Nothing wrong with that but you could vary the protein sources a bit more. Burrata, blue cheese, tallegio, a tart (which I presume has some cream or cheese in) and creme fraiche. Maybe you could swap one of those. I'd maybe lose the tallegio from the potatoes and roast them with some fresh herbs and/or seeds. Or drop one of the cheeses from the platter and base something around chickpeas instead - falafel or a homemade spiced humous or roasted spiced chickpea salad.

I was thinking it may be a bit cheese-heavy afternoon, I was thinking of subbing the chicory and blue cheese for a white bean and red onion salad, maybe I'll do both...

And I was going to do a dish of the potatoes without cheese too (they've got herbs and garlic in as well).

Is it lunchtime yet?

Ooh that looks lovely, Hairy, thanks! I think I'll give it a go. I might be tempted to swap the almonds for walnuts or hazelnuts to give it a more autumnal feel!

My invite is in the post, is it?

Sounds amazing!

Just to say fontina is also not suitable for vegetarians, OP.

Bum Family! I did Google and it brought up some veggie ones, I'll see what they say in the cheesemongers, they're bound to have something to suit.
