I fully intended to go sugar free for a whole month but I'll be lucky to do a whole week

I miss chocolate, it's been 5 days I've gone without now. I used to only have chocolate at weekends but since giving birth in January I've been a chocoholic and mostly had hot chocolate everyday with actual chocolate just at weekends still.

In my plight to be healthier I decided I'd go sugar free for November but it's miserable and I miss my hot chocolate in the evenings. I'm thinking if cutting it short to a week instead if a month. Good idea? 👍🏼👎🏼

I dont eat any ready meals or celeb endorsed foods. I've always been pretty healthy but it's the chocolate habit I want to reign in so I can star enjoying it every now and then rather than craving it every day

I went for a routine health check the other week and my blood glucose level was a little high so I am trying to reduce my intake of processed sugar as well as carbohydrates. I've been finishing off some stuff in the house on the basis that I won't get type 2 diabetes in a week and once it's gone it's gone (eg fruit juice lollies) but it's difficult to avoid anything with processed or natural sugars in, even things like carrots and tomatoes are full of sugar. I've just eaten the end of a homemade soup made of potato and sweet potato which is full of high GI carbs despite being healthy in itself! It's so difficult, doesn't help that I am a fussy eater anyway so if I cut out most of a food group there isn't much left...

I have used chewing gum before to give my mouth something to do but it just pulls my fillings out, so causes problems of its own...

It's so hard . I gave up choc for 6 weeks before as a teen and also about 3 months two years ago.
I can't stop eating it now I could easily eat a 180g bar in one day
