Physiotherapist or Chiropractor or someone else?

I have a painful back, an aching hip, very tight leg muscles constantly threatening to spasm, and I feel as if my hips are misaligned. Should I pay to see a physio, a chiro or someone else?

I would go to GP first.

I had sciatica and I was advised by GP to go to a physio first and then try a who was chiropractor was amazing.

I was hoping to bypass the GP, just for speed.

Osteopath. Don’t waste your time at the GP.

If you can self-refer to a physio I'd go there - my physio has been a hell of a lot more helpful for my back/leg issues than the various doctors I saw before her. I had very tight leg muscles (my calf muscles felt like they were constantly contracted) and it turned out to be due to an issue in my back, which made the muscles and ligaments in my legs over-compensate which caused the leg pains. She prescribed certain exercises and stretches for me to do, and I did a 10 week back pain exercise class that she led and there's been a lot of improvement.

But you might also need to see the GP for painkillers if ibuprofen isn't enough to help. The problem with pain is that it makes you want to stop moving, which can then turn an acute episode of pain into a chronic pain issue, so it's better to take painkillers so you can keep moving despite the pain.

Go to an osteopath.

I would have said osteo/chiro. But my physio has been brilliant.

I really recommend deep massage, myofascial relief. It's been huge for me,
