Dh and were looking in the window of a stove shop today, we want to put a multifuel burner in the livingroom.
We've had one in our previous house and loved it. Only ever used wood. It was a freestanding one with a pipe that went straight up through the roof.
New house has a slate chimney breast, and a two inch thick solid slate slab hearth which I really like. Has a dated gas fire thats supposed to look like an open fire.
Anyhoo, I like the look of this Insert stove As I don't want to rip out all the chinmey breast slate wall. Anyone have one like this?
We also have a coal man who delivers in our neighbourhood, how much coal would it use if we ran it daily all week? We only used wood in the past and would go through a cord of seasoned hardwood (oak and almond) big logs over the winter.

House coal does not go into a multifuel stove. You need anthracite. I buy mine in 20kg bags for £4.50 each (should be £6.20 each but mates rates.)

No idea about everyday though as I don’t do that

House coal does go into a multifuel stove.
I burn coal and turf, would go through 2 baskets of turf a day, but my stove is lit from morning til night.
It depends if you have a back boiler stove or a room heater stove, how much fuel you would use. A back boiler would use considerably more.

No back boiler anymore, we have a combi boiler in the kitchen. So just for heating the room, and the hall and stairs.
We looked at coal in the hardware store today, bags of 20kg ranged from £4.50 to £7 Not sure how much direct from the coalman.
