Thinking of getting my 6 yo DS a stuva loft bed from Ikea...anyone who has got one...do you rate it? Thanks!

Dd has one. Far better than the one ds has from Argos (we were short on short bed options there). It's a lot more customisable to the room too. She loves it. The ladder worries me, but she's never had a problem.

It's a quality bed but...

  1. Changing sheets will be a bastard. Can he help?
  2. Dealing with sick. Chikd... Ditto
  3. You'll need to stand on the chair just to say goodnight.

But

I have to say it feels like a huge cot and is so comfy that I forgive all of the above.

Thanks both. @PearlsBeforeWine excellent point about the chaos that could ensue with a vom from height! That might be enough to put me off. Think I need a trip to Ikea to punt DS in one and see what he thinks.

They're really high up. Like really high. I bought my next child a medium sleeper which is pretty good, I can stand and read him a story and tuck him in properly, it's much easier.... And only gbp100

DD loves hers and it looks great in her room, but if I could go back I wouldn't get it again. Nightmare to put together and changing the fitted sheet is a right PITA. Also, I miss being able to sit up next to her in her bed and read together.
