What time does your 17 old DC have to be back?

We live just outside London with good transport links. DS (17 1/2) and I have differing ideas re the time he has to be home if he's travelling alone on public transport.

I know he is old enough to have left home and in 10 months time he'll hopefully be at Uni etc and I am aware I am possibly overprotective due to personal circumstances.

So, please can I ask what time does your DS have to be back on a non-school night?

Nearly 18 and you have a time for him to come home??? Really???

Yes, October, that's why I'm asking.

Any time really. As long as I know his ETA (vaguely) or if he's not coming home he has to let me know whatever the time.
However, he doesn't rely on late night public transport as there isn't any!
He is often being driven around by friends so our travel conversations tend to come from that. IE who's car are you in, are they a safe driver, do they have a black box.....

I like Dd (17) ti be back by 10 on week nights as thats when dh goes to bed. I dont mind during the week as long as she is driving or getting a lift/taxi with a friend. I’d worry about public transport at night.

All I ask is if he's going to be later than 10, to let me know and give a rough idea of when he should be back. Exception is if he's at a gig in which case I know he probably won't be back until 11:30/midnight. He's never travelling alone as the majority of his friends live in this area so no worries about them being on public transport.

It's the public transport alone from London that worries me, If he's Uber'ing it or coming back with friends, then as long as he lets me know an eta, then it doesn't matter.
