Wooden Train Stop Motion Videos

People on here seemed to enjoy these videos when I've posted before, so is the (late) Halloween/Autumn special! Don't worry, its not scary.

My husband and I make these for our 4 year old nephew who loves his train set and gets very excited when we show him a new video! Toddlers seem to like them because they're simple, but my husband's year 4/5 class also really like them! As do quite a few of our adult friends and family.

It's so cute and strangely soothing to watch!

Ahh thank you! Yes a few people have said they find it soothing. Maybe its because its simple...nostalgia?

@Rubberduckies I'm sad for you that no one else has commented their appreciation! DP is a stop motion animator so I can appreciate how long this would've taken you. Months worth of work can be seconds in a film for him.

That is lovely! My son would live that now at 7 years old, even more so if he could tell it was his own train set! What a lucky little boy your nephew is!

Thanks for the lovely comments :)
Yes it is a huge amount of work... each scene is around 2 hours of photography....then editing, sounds etc. It has been great though to have a shared hobby - we used to do different things but in the same room but this is truly both of us!

Bless him, our nephew is still a little unsure I think about whether we make the videos or not.... he sometimes sees certain things in our house and says "just like the video!" And other times will look through the toy box and ask for 'The Unlucky Train' but he's never seemed to wonder where TRAiN TOWN actually is (the spare room he's not allowed in). All hell would break loose if he realised there were boxes and boxes of trains, and trees, and animals, and buildings just the other side of that door.....!
