he's waited several years for this and is moving into his new flat on monday, and i'm so excited for him Smile, there's a lot of back story, he moved in with his nan when he was 16, she has been clingy and 'prevented' him from moving out, he's such a caring lad and has been guilt tripped into staying with her, but we've got him his first home and went to see it today. it's perfect.
looking forward to helping him to furnish it and develop his independence. he has followed a lady [eiderflower] ? and her aspie son on here and has been admired the son getting his own place, it encouraged paws #1 to branch out.
so paws #1 [i know you read mn] just to let you know we are proud of you, wish you lots of happiness and love in your new home xx

Many congratulations and good luck to your DS; I hope he loves his new place.

One of my DC is recently diagnosed. It makes my heart truly soar to see stories like this when sometimes it seems we only hear about certain difficulty and failure ahead. Thank you just for sharing this news.

thanks everyone Smile, we have had so much support from a fantastic support worker, take a moment in the spot light gail, she really has had his back from sorting out his benefits, appealing when computers said no, getting on ha list and chivving the council along with the entire process.
there are truly lovely people out there who can make a real difference to a young person with sen and disabilities. it was a struggle at times but we had to believe we'd win and here we are.
look positive vibes for your ds and others like our lads, they deserve every chance to lead a good and happy life. Smile

Big congrats to you both. I have a 10 year old, recently diagnosed aspie and sometimes I fear for his future. It’s great to hear stories like this.
