How to dress baby/toddler for weather?

Morning all, we’ve just moved from LA and I’ve got no idea how to dress DD! She’s 10 months and crawling and cruising (taking steps holding hands/furniture).

I’ve got a bit of shopping to do for the whole family but no idea how to dress DD! A snow suit? Rain coat? Shoes? Boots? She is happy to explore at a park in the swing/slide and crawl a bit and try some steps. At home in LA we would have her barefoot but obviously too cold and damp for that here. How do you dress this age LO at this time of year? We get around with a stroller or in a sling, haven’t figured out the car situation yet.

Thanks!!!

At 10 months Dd was in wellies, rain trousers and a rain coat. (But she walked early.)

DS is the same age as your DD and also cruising, crawling, climbing steps. I find a snowsuit too bulky and restrictive, I prefer a puddlesuit to go over his clothes. Stonz soft boots are great for his feet, they're waterproof and fleece lined and can be worn over bare feet/socks/first shoes, and they fold up nice and small for your bag. They're also handy for keeping feet warm in the sling.

Wellies, all in one and layers underneath.

Same age DC here. He wears a vest under a long sleeved outfit of some description, and then a wooly jumper or cardigan over the top. If going in the car he gets a blanket on his knees, in a buggy he has a cosy toe in the pram plus a wooly hat. He has an all in one thin waterproof coat but that is only for if he wants to crawl outside and the grass is wet or if I need to take him out in the car and it's pouring (our driveway is a bit of a walk from our house). They grow so quickly at this stage, layering is a good way to avoid buying multiple coats throughout the winter as they grow. He is barefoot indoors or wears socks if we go out.
