Baby wish list - ideas

We are due our first baby in the Spring. So plenty of time yet.

We live overseas, so many family have already asked for ideas and how is best to send etc etc.

I have decided an amazon wish list is easiest. I don't really want or need any 'large' items to be added, or 'essentials' as such. As postage can take a while to reach us, we will already have covered anything like that ourselves as some people are likely to buy something after baby is already born.

So i am basically looking to add 'nice' extras that people can choose from to add onto the list.

So far: baby board books, baby teethers/ simple toys

and then I am lost! is there anything else you might suggest you used a lot and would be handy? or even just a nice keepsake.

Watching with interest as we're doing the same thing! We've used giftster.

I've included things like a toy box, soft books and blocks. Trying to think ahead to what we'll need after the newborn stage. Lots of muslins, grosnugs and larger outfits.

Sheets for cot? Blankets? Vouchers for a local store or online if you can send pix and a thank you immediately and another once they're used or bought? Books for later on past the board book stage if you can store for later? Vouchers for clothes - my family had normal size babies so when my 10lb DS arrived it was a scramble.

Great ideas.
I think some books for later on would be nice as I can write inside who they are from.

Amazon doesn't have the greatest selection of clothing unfortunately, so I will see what's available in larger sizes but not much I liked when first browsed.

I guess toys for later, but I figured Christmas will be in between where family will no doubt ask for yet more suggestions! I think some music toy for cot is a good idea

Its a hard balance of nice bits that will be handy, and not going crazy for the sake of it. We have some space to store odd bits, but like everyone I guess, space is often an issue.

Grobag sleeping bags

Mumdiva99 · 30/10/2019 07:19

If this is likely to be constant you need to find a way they can contribute to classes/annual passes as they are more valuable than 'stuff'. A baby really doesn't need much, and your house will soon fill up. A set of 6 classes someone can contribute towards - like baby massage or baby sensory will be great for you both. (When I say classes think out the house for a while meeting other parents...not hot housing your child with a skill!!)

Caspianberg · 30/10/2019 07:39

@Mumdiva - yes I am hoping to push grandparents into passes eventually as like you say, they don't need 'stuff'. We are fairly remote though, so it wouldn't be a daily need as I can't travel that far daily for a music class!
List is more for other family and friends who would probably spend £10-20 if we lived locally.

The lamaze baby toys are really good for young babies

Another vote for grobag sleeping bags
